Apparntly loads of shit is suppose to go down in 2012, end of the world ,Alien Life revealing itself, Austraila get getting an 18 certifiacte

"The Ministry of Defense doesn't have any evidence that our defenses were breached by alien craft," Clarke said. "They never found one, no bits of one. That's all we can say."
As if they would tell us if they did...
2012 is a load of bull, people are saying the worlds gonna end due to the Mayan calender or whatever its called, but its the calender ends just like how we have a normal 12 month calender, once that ends do you run around shouting the worlds going to end My calender has no more pages with months on?!?!? No plus just look at the whole year 2000 theory and that particle thing that was supposed to cause a black hole. And Australia will never get an 18 certificate it was written in the stone by gods.

UFOs have been something that have interested me, and I have a two whole bookshelves filled with books and collections of documents relating to them. I hope I'll be able to get my hands on a copy of those reports.

bah, why cant humans be the most technologically advanced race? cant we be the ones to descend screaming from the heavens, sending red hot lead screaming from our guns (think about the concept of a gun to someone who has never heard of one) and using bombs to conquer entire worlds?

what if our healing capabilities are horrifying to the enemy, who have a slow metabolism, what if our vehicles (blackhawk to the xenos, scary shit) make us the dominant force, what if our 'enemies' are glass-fragile sloths who find us unstoppable juggernauts of fury?

what if... what if we were space marines.

In a cosmos so large, other intelligent life? Sure! Other intelligent life that can travel mind-boggling distances? Okay... Other intelligent life that can travel mind-boggling distances and haven't found out all they wanted to know in the decades they've been messing with us? Hum...

lets just say that corn crops and all that shit actually were aliens... but then what kind of aliens? i would think it were youngster fuckheads being bored and going out to pull a prank and put it on their version of youtube making people laugh as hell at the hysteria they are causing:D.

(note: im not super serious because i belive that a lot of this is basically crazy ass farmers who got a bit to much to drink)

"The best proof there is intelligent life in the universe is that it hasn't visited us." -Calvin, "Calvin & Hobbes"

Seriously, just what does this backwater planet orbiting a plain yellow star in the ass-end of a nondescript galaxy offer to where other civilzations would want to visit? We're not that special, people.

9/10 of these arial reports are far more likely to be experimental military aircraft thats being tested secretly...
I would agree with this more than anything else. Makes sense to me, although, I wouldn't say that they are all that easily explained.

its possable. Its definantly what I would do.

who wouldn't like messing with the minds of a less primative race?

me and my friends have thought alot about this subject in the past (usually in booze fueled "deep" conversations) and I offered the idea that an intelligent species spends much more time in a primitive state than a technological state.

the first things that used tools and made fire on earth may have lived upto a million years ago but only in the last century or so has our technology got to a significant level, our earliest broadcasts will be less than 100 light years into space which is practically no distance at all in galactic terms.

The chances of aliens knowing we are here is very slim and if we ever find them I reckon they'll be living in caves wearing animal skin

either that or they just bring their kids here to learn to fly their spaceships.. damn learners!!

No, see, the thing is, there is no past or future. It is an illusion, created by the way we have constructed our languages. There is even barely a present. For something to become past, it must cease to exist - else it cannot be past, and is indeed still present. But if something ceases to exist, it would be impossible to revisit - there is nothing, nothing even telling us what the past, could it exist, would look like. Time travel is impossible, becuase there can never be a destination. It doesn't matter what kind of machinery is invented, for there is no such things as past or future. Time has no extension whatsoever.
jaij! Agree! finally someone who understands the idea of time :)
but needs to be said: that is not taking M- or String theory in account (which basically sucks anyway)

I believe that if there was an alien race of intelligent beings with advanced spacecraft and they were visiting Earth they would do a little more than land in fields of crops and make touch and go landings on small airports at night. Really, why would they do that? Unless they're an advanced alien species who just enjoy screwing with more primitive races. Or they're crazy or something.
It's the equivalent of running up to a door bell, ringin' it, and then runnin' away and giggling about it.

Really now, we can't be the only sentient species in the Universe that likes to screw around.

No, not really... I mean, just the concept of time travel is bad. Time paradox, anyone? I love the movie, but I don't feel like living through Donnie Darko -_-'

Anyways, more on topic, I love hearing about these types of sitings. I have no idea what it could be, but it's incredibly fun to think of the different possibilities.
Well really a time paradox is impossible, it would all fit together because with time travel there would be no present and if you fuck something up, IT will affect everything but that already happened before you did it.
Time and context tense is difficult...

No... To make it official, there needs to be hard evidence. Like a real alien space craft in your possession.

Most of these UFO cases, even Roswell, was either a top secret experimental aircraft, weather balloons, blimps, aircraft, dunks or fakes...

Only a very small percent is unexplained, but from these, very little evidence is left behind.

*edit*

What the hell kind of technology/secrets would the aliens want anyway? And We'd not be able to stop them if they did want anything anyway!

Ah BUT! slowing down time and speeding it up is possible because time passes at a different rate in space because of the lack of gravity. But the high gravity needed to effectively slow down time.....well...look at a black hole....It's not really going to work.

Brilliant movie idea...
Starts on a peaceful, Medieval-esque planet filled with aliens who believe in hope, love, and collective teamwork. Suddenly, one day, their telescopes see a group of objects hurtling through starry space. Eagerly they await the coming of these crafts. Long have they wondered if they were truly alone in the universe. Now they know. An advanced race, a thousand years ahead of them, is coming to grant them wisdom and knowledge beyond their years.

As the first ship floats down into the planet's capital city, swarms of happy civilians watch it land. As it touches down, the Grand Leader appears, ready to welcome the visitors. As he approaches the strange object, he is blinded by a great light as the vessel opens up. Out of the corner of his eye he sees the being in the doorframe, a muscular individual with two arms and two legs, just like them. He seems to be wearing some kind of armour, but that is probably for his own protection.

The Grand Leader walks closer, outstrenching both arms in greeting. Before he touches the being, however, he is kicked down the stairs. He looks up, and sees the visitor is holding some kind of cylinder pointed at his face. There's a flash...and then nothing. The visitor continues, firing some kind of unspeakable magic at the crowd, destroying the creatures left and right...it's like Mars Attacks, but we're the bad guys, awesome!
hm, isnt there a animation movie being made about that? Planet 52 or suomething?

So does this make it official? What do you think?
This is almost a year old.

I'll state this quite clearly. No technically proficient alien species have ever 'visited' earth.
