I don't really think it warrants a change in the months of one year to facilitate a few late snow falls. Unless it can be proven that this is the result of the seasons starting later due to problems with the earths rotation/orbit...

On another note I start a new job tomorrow as a property surveyor and hope my long johns keep me nice and warm :)

Fuck snow!

Yeah, it sure is pretty to look at ... until it becomes this brown sludge or melts a little then freezes so you walk around on sheet ice looking like Bambi so you don't slip and bounce your bonce of the floor..
I slipped and brained myself twice last year...

People say it's affected my intelligence, but that's unpossible!
Last year a fireman and a little (12, I think) girl died due to banging there heads, I have seen some sick youtube vids of peoples heads literally bouncing off the floor.

When people say hitting there head after slipping, you think of like when you bend over then stand back up and knock your head on a table ... but these peoples heads are getting hit like they were struck by baseball bat.
With me, (due to a slightly slanted pavement) my foot just pivoted out, took out the other one, and with both my feet off the ground, my head smashed right into a dry-stone wall. I have a phobia of slipping now. I'm careful as fuck when I have to go out on an icy day. Also, I've replaced my shoes, as the grip was worn to hell on the pair I fell in.

When I was in high school I fell but it wasn't a traumatic experience, just went on my ass.

I just hate that my country is so shit at dealing with it and not clearing it. For example I was told if it snows, you clear it and it snows again you are now responsible if anybody slips. Somebody could sue you if they slip on snow if you have previously cleared it ... how fucking stupid is that?

If everybody cleared there house "area" such as there drive and the bit in front of there house, there path if they have one, there would be no slips. Just leave fields and such with snow on for people to enjoy.

I also think when the weather forecasts snow or frost trucks should be sent out to salt/grit the roads, to prevent ice and not to melt it. If it's already on the ground it's too late, put it down before it piles up so it's safer.

We have grit salt trucks, but it's never preemptive. Damn Britain... still, at least it isn't the land of lawsuits like 'Merica.

Edit: According to your profile, you are also British. Weird, I've never heard of that lawsuit thing.

I think it's just due to our non-sueing ways, English aren't really about suing as Marcus Brigstock says.

It's somewhere in here, might as well watch it all, he's pretty funny and he does a killer scooby doo impression.

I am not 100% sure on validity of being able to sue a person for snow on a previously cleared drive, it was sort of just over heard.

I don't mind snow... But it's gotta be heavy enough that there's no point even considering going anyware far. The shitty, not much snow pisses me off.
Shropshire, btw. It'll be gone by tommorow. Back to school. :/

I've seen him. He's quite funny (his supply teacher joke slew me).

That said, I have a Scooby Doo related anecdote.

When I was six, I overheard my mum saying she was going to meet Shaggy at the bar for a pint. Now, "Shaggy" is the nickname of a local guy. I did not know this. I was like "oh, wow, please can I meet Shaggy?"

My mum played along, and got Shaggy to do so too. So I was talking to him like @_@. I did all the stuff you'd expect (do you have a scooby snack, etc) oblivious to his thick Yorkshire accent, and eventually I said "so where's Scooby?" to which he replied, not missing a beat, "Scooby died."

So that was the end of my childhood! :D

I love Marcus Brigstock! I've seen him live twice. Classic.

OT: Another Londonite here - the snow has turned from a lovely, crunchy, pristine beautiful blanket to icy shitty slush.

Such is life in Britain.

I made a snowman during my lunch break at work today, I wish I had taken a picture. It's no where near as glorious as yours, Root. /sadface

Snow is still snow here in Ripon, except on the roads (been attacked by a salt truck during the night) and the paths are basically covered in ice, meaning I nearly slipped and fell on my way home from work.
Tomorrow I shall look at the snow through a window and stay inside where it warm, maybe watch the kitties frolic in the garden. They get so confused by snow. It's adorable.
