(I don't keep a list of my finished mangas, that's why it's so short)

I will add any manga that some reminds me of.

Here are my parameters: No Shoujo/Romance, Josei, or Yaoi. Try to avoid slice of life or mecha. I prefer Shounen, supernatural, and action. I like engaging stories and intense fight scenes.

If not a single person comes up with a single good manga recommendation, I will here forth be known as the "Manga Lord". Let's see what the members of The Escapist can do.

P.S. Yes, I know that's a boatload of manga. I'm a very fast reader.

Clannad. I was going to say Elfen Lied, but you already completed that. T_T

Edit: Actually, I wouldn't recommend the manga as much as I would the anime... I'd recommend it for an anime, not as a manga. (For Clannad)

Well then, I'll just see what I have on hand...

*goes to check Manga in bedroom*

Found some.
I Reccomend:
Sokora refugees,
Ruroni Kenshin,
Real Bout High School,
Fullmetal Alchemist,
Hellsing,
Bo-bobo,
Peace Maker,
Peace Maker Kurogane,
The dreaming
Hell Girl,
Record of The Lodoss war
and Fables(this last one being more in the vein of western style comics in case you got bored of all that manga).

Ok, that's most of my collection Other than Devil may cry and Pheonix.

However Phoenix is a work by osamu Tezuka and is automatically recommended without the need to be mentioned. Aplologies for the megapost.

I'm in the middle of Parasyte and it's very good so far.
not sure if you've read it or not.
Koe De Oshigoto, which gets very funny around chapter 4
and Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann: Gurren-Gukuen which is possibly one of the funniest things I've ever read. shame it's only 6 chapters

for something random I'll suggest My Balls
yes that is the title of the manga
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_Balls
and it is surprisingly funny, I suggest you give it a shot if you want something weird with very dirty humor.

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUU--------- I have to rant here, the Elfin Lied anime was pure unprocessed feces compared to the manga. The manga had a much more engaging story, an actual message and an perfect ending compared to the anime's ambiguous ending and half done story. GRRRR

Dude... you're missing some awesome shounen manga.

- Hajime no Ippo.
- Eyeshield 21.
- Gantz.
- I''s (kinda shoujo but you'll LOVE the dude's art).
- Monster
- 20th Century Boys
- Claymore
- Rurouni Kenshin
- Battle Royale

And that's just what I can remember right now. You'll have plenty just with Hajime no Ippo. It's long as fuck.

First and foremost: Gintama. Best I've seen, and it could be compared to reborn.
Secondly: Buso Renkin. A short and little known shonen which can be described as "Bleach done right"
Thirdly: Bakuman. It is slice of life, but I found it oddly adictive. Also one character is essentially Squalo as an artist with a beanie hat :D
Hope you enjoy these, I'm sure you will.

Well, I see no mention of it, so I will recommend Higurashi no Naku Koro ni.
Also known as When they cry and Higurashi When they cry.
And some other names they are less likely to be known as.
The manga is actually quite good, from what I have read.
Meant to be quite scary as well at some points.

Battle Angel Alita. The original series is the best, but Last Order is still pretty good too. I also did not see Pluto on there, so read that too. It is by the same guy who wrote 20th Century Boys and Monsters, so it is really good (I would have recommended those two, but somebody beat me to it).

EDIT: Oh yeah, get Dororo and Lone Wolf & Cub too. Both are also excellent.

Wow thats a lot i only read 1 of the manga's on your list. I use read naruto but i lost interest in trying to keep track of the confusing fighting. the sucky anime did not help keep my interest in the story.
but i digress;i may look at Fairy Tail at some point since i heard of it before.
In short i don't read many manga's so i can't recommended anything.
