1)Resident Evil was never about zombies. Now some people complain about the latest 2 RE games not having and zombies in it and it was taking it away from the original concept of the series....well, it wasn't. Like the japanese name of the series, Biohazard, the game has been and most likely always will be about biohazards/bio-logical weapons. Even in the original game, you had enemies like the Hunters, Tyrant, and giant $#%&ing snakes...those were not zombies, they were biological weapons made with the T virus. Even the T-"Zombies" weren't even zombie, but researchers that were mutated by the virus, and acted and looked zombie-like.
My problem with the latest RE games isn't the lack of zombies (although that does suck) it is the fact that the games have completely abandoned the horror aspect of the series and just become another bland action game.

Except hasn't ever been about zombies. They are basically mutants created with a biological weapon.

I think "tournament" SSBB misses the point considerably. Removing random items and shifting stages cuts the soul out of the game and actually unbalances characters. (Specifically, it makes fast, weak characters stronger [they can easier get items] and weaker [they can be skeet-shot into oblivion] in different fashions.) If you (now the proverbial "you") want to play a strategic, mindful, tactical fighter, there are games for that, but Smash Bros. isn't one of them.
I gotta agree with you there. Games seem alot more fun when more items are on. Occasionally I like a "Only Smash Ball" game now and again, but taking out items sorta takes some fun out the game. Same thing with doing Final Destination/Bridge of Elden EVERY FUCKING TIME! Seriously I get so annoyed by these flat and "fair" stages. I don't really think their all that fair as they cater to a specific play style: Shooty-as-hell. I like jumping around, avoiding opponents while at high damage, before lauching hit-and-run attacks on them. Plus certain Final Smashes do better on certain stages than on others (Jigglypuff's is great on really small stages to the point of being almost overpowered; Sonic's is great on flat, unoccupied stages [Hmm... come to think about it Sonic's FS is OP, just like the rest of his moveset]).

Hmmmmmm. I seemed to have started ranting and er... "Missed the Point" of the "Missed the Point" thread.
IRONY!

You missed the point of his post. It wasn't that they don't have "zombies" anymore it was that its now an action game where monsters jump out at you sometimes.
As for the "zombies" they were fun. They were slow, they shambled and they made for a good early enemy in the games before the hunters and shit came out. Ganados and such like are boring, "zombies" while stereotypical and generic are somewhat iconic and familiar. I personally liked how they were done in the REmake, where if you didn't burn them or blow their heads off they mutated further.
I didn't miss the point. He made 2 points. The first was that were was a lack of zombie, to which I said that there weren't ever any real zombies, and the second point was that it's become a lot more action orientated. I just chose not to reply to the second point, as he's completely correct on it.

People who Min/Max in RPGs. You are reducing a RPG to just a G. Try some role-playing.

People who complain about repetitiveness in Far Cry 2. To quote my mother "Only boring people get bored.". It is a beautiful open world where you can achieve your goals anyway you see fit, stealth, ambush, explosives, long range hits, stabbing, fire there are so many ways to kill a person you can be entertained for hours. However people who complain about the respawn are totally justified.

Ill have to agree with the "they was zombies" like primitivescrewhead says.. Look at RE2 the colored Police Officer in the Raccoon City Police Department rather early in the game. You meet him has Claire / Leon and he is Mortally Wounded, when you come back to him later he is Dead and Zombifies in-front of you. While yes the Zombie outbreak was created from the T-Virus by Umbrella Corp, it is to my memory it had a Zombifactation to recently diseased via a Infected Zombie Killing them, although if my memory serves me correct Resident Evil 1 Didn't truly explain how the Hunters came about but RE2 Mentions that direct injection of the T-Virus causes some of the non-zombie like Enemy's like the Licker.

On a side note I do agree that Resident Evil isn't what it used to be and has to me branched too far from its roots it doesn't feel like a Survival Horror no more. not because of the move from the Capcom patented "Tank" Control's but more that its been your being sent in to sort the shit out rather than being stuck in the middle of it. RE1 is kinda the exception id spose but was more closed in and in a creepy (OK BACK THEN creepy) mansion, RE2 your just a replacement Cop / Girl Looking for her bro and just thrown into hell and the third your trying to escape from hell. the forth while I did like broke what I loved about RE's in that it didn't feel as much Survival and the Horror while always weak had watered down more to me.

My best friend played Bioshock 2 and hated it because he didn't take the time to find even half of the audio tapes and thought that everything Delta did was simply because he had no other choice, thought it was retarded that Lamb was never mentioned in Bioshock 1, thought the whole story was bollocks because they don't give you the entire story,
and that Eleanor was killing you at the end of the game.

He still won't listen to me when I explain to him everything he missed not collecting the diaries....
