Has anybody recently played a game that was amazingly fun, but didnt get all the media hype of other games? For example, I found Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts. I played Banjo on the Nintendo 64 back in the day, and have always remembered it. The new game is amazingly fun, with a really fun vehicle system that is very creative. I was wondering if you escapees knew of any other games like this? slightly under the radar games that have a suprising amount of entertainment.

Superpower 2 (or one for that matter), amazing game. It is more of a global politics simulator, you can pick any real world country you want and you have control over laws/policies, economics, military, espionage, international initiatives, scientific research, stock markets, pretty much everything all using the actual statistics for these based on the CIA world fact book stats at 2000 I think.

NEStalgia is my current favorite hidden gem of a game. Look up the trailer on YouTube. It's like an MMO version of a 1990 Dragon Warrior game. I'm still welcoming new friends to Algol server. Hopefully it won't be quite so obscure when the Flash client for the game is finished.

These days I don't find much in the way of under the radar joys. Maybe Spelunker HD on PS3. And some old games I loved that nobody else seems to have cared for or played. Rocket Knight Adventures on the Genesis and Jackie Chan's Action Kung-Fu for the NES come immediately to mind.

Earth Defence Force 2017. playing it with a friend is a surprisingly funa nd destructive time, especailly when you start getting the lock on rockets and such, one can act as an artillery cannon as the other charges in. You can also replay level at any difficulty (harder = chance of unlocking the better weapons).

Now that I think about it: Savage: The Battle for Newerth was an amazing PC game that I miss greatly. It was like an RTS / FPS hybrid. Really strange. Played it on a daily basis with my roomies back in the day.

Supreme Commander. The game has a brilliant resource system, and is one of the RTS's where playing like a turtle is a viable tactic. And no defence you can make will be completely indestructible, due to the prevalence of artillary and stratigic missiles.

Supreme Commander has to be one of my favourite RTS games, not just because of the style but also because I find it to be more user friendly than a lot of RTS games. eg. Starcraft 2.
