What about all those games (the non-popular ones) that were amazing, but seemed to pass by the public's eye? What games do you know of that deserve more praise then what they are given.

For example...
Ico
Okami
Etc...

When you list games, please include the system they are on, or they will not be added

Game list

***EDIT:***
I constantly find myself getting bored with the same games, and personally wish all the time, they I knew about more games.

So, with the help of you guys, I've made up a list of "Underappreciated" or "not widely known" games, that were simply amazing.

The list idea would be for anyone who, if like me, get's tired of the same ole stuff and needs something out of the ordinary or something new to try. It's for someone who feels they missed some games back in the day because "so and so" was out. It's for those who want to try their hand at some wacky games. Hell, it's for everyone. Enojy!

Also, if there seems to be games which are on multilple systems, please tell me and list them.

When you list games, please include the system they are on, or they will not be added
Thank you :)

Age of Wonders
Galactic Civilizations II

Those two got plenty of praise, just no one knows about them.

I think it's safe to say that those are the best turn-based strategy games since Chess.

Yeah, threads like these are ALWAYS made, and tend to always get the same answers, too. Like, people will say Shadow of the Colossus, even though it sold enough copies to make Greatest Hits. Then pretty much everybody will say Psychonauts, and then probably Grim Fandango. Ico and Okami are also regularly recurring mentions in these threads. There aren't many responses that people make that aren't cliche to some extent.

Planescape: Torment
Hotel Dusk: Room 215
Also, I think Wario: Master of Disguise was misjudged. Sure, the story line was terrible and crude but the old school puzzle platforming and very precise touch screen was great.

All of those are good, but you can't forget Beyond Good and Evil. That game seriously needs to have the story closed up, but that and P-nauts are "mainstream" underrated games. Games like Hotel Dusk: Room whatever and especially Steambot Chronicles (Best. Game. Ever. by a large margin) desperately need sequels or at least more games like them.

Hotel Dusk IS getting a sequel, but I actually didn't care too much for it. I didn't find that there was nearly enough of a gameplay element to keep me interested for long. Normally, I *love* point-and-click adventures, but Hotel Dusk lacked something, despite seemingly having all the right ingredients.

I'm not sure if it ever made any consoles, but I remember an old arcade fighting game called Time Killers, in which you played characters from many different time eras, from the ancient past to the distant future. The catch was that, at any point in the middle of the round, the right blow could take off an enemy's (or your) limb, thus hindering your offense. You could also, at any point in the round, score a blow correctly to take their head right off and end the round instantly. It was a bit hard to actually manage to land such blows, but the ever present threat was there to add a cool element to the importance of a good defense.

Beyond Good and Evil, R.A.D (Robot Alchemic Drive), Metal Arms: Glitch in the System, Twisted Metal: Black, Final Fantasy 9 (the forgotten step-child of the series, not to be confused with the retarded cousin, 8).
You wanna go old school to the games I grew up, warior's woods for SNES and Chrono Cross for ps1. Also Tekken 1,2, 3. I liked it before it was cool man :O

Stuntman ignition.

It was very challenging but satisfying and it had a great sense of humour in the director interviews.

"Outside he will be having explosive car chases, firing wrist watch missiles and making women moan with animal pleasure. But inside. He is spitting at ze gods!"- Director of 'Never Kill me again' one of the movies in Stuntman.

Magic Carpet 2. Unfortunately, you need to download an MS-DOS emulator to play it if you have a modern computer, which I don't have and can't find.

Sanitarium. It's probably more famous than I think it is, but I thought it was worth a mention anyway.

HBrutusH, I was thinking that too. Master of Orion I and II.

There was also a turn-based DOS strategy game that I thought was the greatest thing in the world in 1991, called "Second Conflict".

I really liked that game. For all of you who don't know, it's a pretty old PS2 game. It had it's share of flaws, but that you could light a screaming robot on fire with a flamethrower more than made up for it.
