I dont dismiss them, they are still good games but i just cant get into them as a person who played them and enjoyed them when they came out would, only partially because of the graphics mainly because i am younger and cant be on the same level as someone who experienced these games.
Best example was space invaders people thought it was the most amazing thing ever when it came out but when i play it i get bored in five minutes

Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction also didn't get nearly enough recognition considering what a technical achievement it was at the time.
Just hope the next one will be just as good- which, considering you can call in a MOAB bomb as an airstrike, it probably will be :)

I'd nominate Dr. Muto, made by Midway and known to very few, it seems. Gameplay is pretty decent, and yet not a word of recognition?

Psychonauts is an obvious choice, but what else...The Jak series and the Sly Cooper series, oh and Kingdom hearts
I think that each of those series earned a 'Sony Greatest Hits' so I don't think their exactly Underappreciated.

The Longest Journey on the PC. Great adventure game that got critically acclaimed in reviews but sold dreadfully.

Star wars rebellion. For the Star Wars nerd in me this game is amazing. Yet it's so old and never did well so very few people really know what it is.

Everyones list is made of sucsessful games or JRPGs :(, im partial to jap games myself sometimes but when you get millions of japanese schoolchildren rioting outside a shop to get summink its hardley unheard of. Besides all JRPGs are bassically the same game like small parts of some huge monster waiting to all leap together in a crazy light show and destroy the world!!!

Urmm.. kinda lost the plot there, the greatest underapreciated gem of all is imo Jagged Alliance 1-2 (PC). Hardley anyone has even heard of them yet there almost perfect, makes me sad really since to date no one has mixed RPG and squad tactics nearly this well before or since.

I would have go with Eternal Darkness, Parasite Eve and Fahrenheit (Indigo Prophecy), the latter being my favourite of the pick. The game was by no means perfect, but like an ugly baby I can't help but love it, all the same.

Didn't read any of this topic just throwing in my opinion.

System Shock 2 should be on this list under PC because it was fantastic. I personally liked it better than the first half life.

Two words; Harvest Moon.

You try and deny it, thats the only game I have left for the gamecube, which is the only reason I still have the gamecube. Man that games awesome... Feed the animals, grow some plants, try to get drunk, try to cheat on your wife, try to push people into the sea/river, try to become morbidly obese... fun times
