It's probably happened to you.
That one game you're extremely excited to play, have heard SO many good things about it, finally sit down to play it... and it kinda sucks.
For me, that game is Silent Hill 2.
I was really excited to play it, honestly. I mean, I'm a big fan of survival horror. I just eat that shit up. And I never played a SH game before, and with so many big fans (can't go anywhere without seeing a frickin' Pyramid Head picture somewhere), I figured 2 would be the best place to start.
I'm really surprised Yahtzeejacks off to likes the game actually, since he rips solid games for having even smaller problems than those in SH2. I mean, fuck. The characters are all completely unlikable, combat is a headache (normally I can deal with that when playing survival horror though), none of the monsters are remotely scary nor was the atmosphere wasn't the slightest big creepy (and I'm the biggest pussy you will ever come across, I shit you not), the plot was a joke, and fuck those tank controls. The puzzles were the only thing remotely entertaining, and I HATE puzzle games.
I kept playing waiting for the pay off, and then I realized I was just getting extremely frustrated and was trying to convince myself (unsuccessfully) that I was having fun. I mean, if you're playing a video game and you're not having fun, you're doing it wrong dammit.
So yeah, TL;DR - look at thread title.
