Right... I'm in a weird mood, music-wise, since I've had

going through my head for the last half hour or so.

Thus, what piano music does the Esc listen to? Whether solo or with chamber/basso continuo/orchestral backing?

Note: the first person who posts Rach2 will get slapped!

I came here because a) I can speak french. b) I read my name. ... Felt weird ...

Can't contribute much, though, given that my choice of music is more rock and metal ...

The only piano songs I listen to are these:

[sub]Okay, so I'm blatantly trolling. I actually like Yiruma's music though. I listen to a few instrumental piano pieces, but I can't recall their names at the moment. I rarely look at the names of the individual pieces in my "classical" playlist.[/sub]

Amazing. Although it was nearly ruined by my dumb, dumb brain spending about two hours against my will trying to remix the tempo change (1:50) with Ke$ha's Tik ToK. ;_;

Oh, sorry about that, chaps!

Honnetement, je pense que mon francais est tres mal... parce que les occasions pour conversation en francais sont rares en Angleterre! Toujours, quand je pense en un autre langue, je me confondre avec les mots d'allemande, japonaise et chinois, aussi!

Anyway, I'll revert to English to stop myself looking like a total idiot!

And you thought this one was bad... can't be bothered to link it, but I did have a thread entitled 'Mes pensees concernant un essai de Jean-Jacques' for what it's worth... not much, probably, considering that was in English as well! =P

EDIT: @FEichinger ... wouldn't your name be 'Friedrich'?

I was going to make a joke about the intro of "Embodied Deception" by Fleshgod Apocalypse, but I can't find the album version on youtube.

That's why I won't make a joke and instead be honest: I only know this because the band usually does not play full piano songs.

I don't listen to piano music all that much, I find folk more relaxing when I'm in the mood for chilling out. Other than that, there is hardly any classical music I really listen to. Sure, Beethoven's 9th comes to mind when thinking of classic, but 1. not a piano piece, and 2. it's probably not Beethoven's best one either, kind of like how "Smoke on the water" is the most popular song by Deep Purple, but by far not their best.

I have nothing to contribute, really...

I enjoy Harlem Stride piano playing.
I also enjoy Ragtime and Barrelhouse Boogie Woogie.
I can also enjoy some Bop piano.

In the realm of Western European Art Music...I suppose I'd go with some of the French Impressionists.

I've been really digging James Rhodes' manic version of In the Hall of the Mountain King lately. Is it a terribly hipster thing to like Rhodes? I hope not. Also anything by Doctor John, Allen Toussaint or Professor Longhair...

Actually, you're quite understandable :)

And a timeless classic;

I'm a pretty big fan of Edvard Grieg (and Knut, for that matter):

I also have a special place in my heart for Nakada's Etude Allegro, because it's just so darn fun to play:

I really love the piano, one of my favorite instruments and I really need to expand my piano playlist, only 64 tracks it half of it is just one artist, Elijah Bossenbroek. Here are two of my favorite songs.

Not a big fan of the old classical piano music but not sure what this genre is called.

Edit: Forgot to mention, I also love jazz piano

I gotta spend time learning how to play the piano better but when the only piano you have is an antique player piano, you inevitably end up letting the piano play the songs for you instead of learning to play yourself.

Wohohoho! What do we have here? A piano music thread? One where the poster posted about classical piano? Quickly, I must act now!

I could keep typing suggestions, but it's getting far too late for me.
