Condemned: Criminal Origins, I thought it was gonna be yet another washed up horror game but it was much more.

Also, I was NOT into fantasy stuff before morrowind. that game changed everything.

Europa Universalis. Picked it out cos it looked cool. Played it for hours.

Hard Corps: Uprising. It looked like trash from the awful anime-style art direction, but when I played it I was amazed.
