The greater good? Do you know how many horrible atrocities have been committed for "the greater good?" Stalin killed millions, MILLIONS! to centralize farming and industry or just because they were going against "the greater good." China, during the communist revolution, lost millions of people to famine, plague, and execution because they stood in the way of "the greater good." Hitler killed millions, tortured more because they were different and therefore a hurdle to be crossed to get to "the greater good."
The phrase "the greater good" is what psychopaths use when trying to justify genocide. Reread your last post. You are suggesting we kill thousands, if not hundreds of thousands or millions, to do what? End war? Evolve? Fulfill some sick fantasy of death and anarchy washing over the world like some putrid tide?
Humans will never be at peace with each other. We will always want what we don't have, take what isn't ours, and destroy those in our way. Your idea of ending war will not happen, it will merely weaken, or worse exterminate, us. Sure, during the fighting we might not be waging war against unspecifiedistan but as soon as we are in the clear, it starts back up. Ever hear of the war to end all wars?

P.S. The driving forces that keep me going are honor, duty, and selflessness. The honor to protect my friends, family, and country; the duty of upholding the oaths I recite; and the selflessness to sacrifice everything if need be.
