Unforgiven: a western worth buying?

Recently I've gotten some mixed reviews about Clint Eastwood's "Unforgiven",and was wondering if my fellow Escapists could help me out.
(Please give reasons why I shouldn't buy this movie,if that's what you selected)

I think you should at least watch it via Netflix or rental, if you like darker westerns, then it's probably one of the best out there

I love Unforgiven its one of my favorite westerns (I haven't seen many, and NO that does not mean to recommend some). I love the end. I think it's worth at least a rental if least.

I say buy it. It's an amazing movie, provided you like darker, grittier movies.

The movie is fantastic.

It is, however, pretty dark, and more of a deconstruction of westerns than an actual western itself, so it isn't for everyone.

Still, even if that doesn't sound like it would appeal to you, it's at least worth a rental. If you like it, definitely buy it. Some of the DVDs out there are 5$ are so, so it's definitely worth getting.

Absolutely a great movie. Eastwood at his best right there. It is sort of like the maturation of "The Outlaw Josey Wales", another movie that I recommend.

If yes, then you'll probably end up owning (and loving) Unforgiven.

Unforgiven is an amazing film it was nominated for nine academy awards and won four of them!

Rotten Tomatoes rates the movie at 96%

If that ain't a reason to get it, I'll give you three more. Gene Hackman, Morgan Freeman and Clint Eastwood.
