It really didn't affect me mentally. It was nice not having to worry about wearing the same clothes every day because I would always wear the same time of clothes everyday.

I did notice there was a lot less making out going out in the halls, but that may because I was in a Roman Catholic school. Once I went to a public one and we could all dress down I noticed certain clothes tended to "lure" others in.

-shrug- Honestly at the time it made me feel like an adult, which I enjoyed. Till I went to a public school and realized what I was missing.

I think they are a great idea. Childhood and teenage years are the most self conscious of everyones life. It really helps that they don't have to wear their own clothes everyday if you ask me.

I spent 13 years in catholic schools.. uniforms and all... at least until i was a freshman. The Nuns all left (not sure why) and lay people took over as admins. The dress code got lax, and more and more casual over the next 3 years. People seemed to get along better and be generally happier. I know i was.
