Unintentionally Hilarious Movies

My friend and I, being the Shakespeare nerds that we are, as well as actors in our school's production of the play, just watched the 2000, modern movie version of Hamlet with Ethan Hawke... and it was hilarious. In fact it was probably one of the funniest movies I've seen in months. It really, really shouldn't have been, what with it being derived from Shakespeare's brilliantly written tragedy magnum opus and all, but there was just so much to laugh at, from the blatant product placement, to most of the actors staring blankly off into space while being talked to, to
that it became so bad it was good. So, Escapists, what movies, or anything else, really, have you seen that were hilariously bad?

I found the seriousness of Predator to be unintentionally hilarious.
Not BAD, mind you, but hilarious.

The director said that it was actually all just a joke, but I don't believe him. I think he was legitimately trying to make a serious drama, and failed... hilariously.

10,000 BC. I had always been a closet fan of Roland Emmerich, even his less celebrated work like Independence Day and Godzilla. The Day After Tomorrow lost a lot of luster after the first viewing, but it was still pretty compelling the first time it came out, so I was sure I was going to love his next movie. I suggested to my friend to pop it in only to be surprised into utter hilarity.

The reason the movie is so funny is because it has two hilarious tendencies: 1) To rip off as many movies as possible, and 2) To be the biggest walking movie ever made. I swear, it doesn't even necessarily rip off good movies. The ones that come to mind off the top of my head are Battlefield Earth, The Lost World, and Stargate. Not only that, but the plot had the main character walking to a new location in a completely different part of the world every 10 minutes or so. The movie is perfect for rifftrax, but in no way would it be worth a legitimate watch.

Being reasonably bored, I watched the 2006 version of When a Stranger Calls and it's hilariously awful. The main character is needlessly naive, the scares range from "something is implied to have happened but didn't" to "let's show a cat to alleviate tension", and the film shrugs off any idea of believability in the third act. It's basically the opposite of anything tense or thrilling and more of an unintentional series of mishaps befalling a teenager.

The Expendables. Between the absurd levels of gore and the completely unintelligible performances given by most of the crusty cast, that was pretty much my favorite comedy of 2010.

yes, it IS a movie

it's supposed to be "silly-serious", yet it's "serious-sillyness", with a lot of probably unwanted hilarity

I mean, the director fucking nailed it with this movie, because, come on, do you really take a movie called "MegaShark vs Giant Octopus" seriously?

Aliens Resurection comes to mind.

some people pan the third one, but to me, it fits the "dark" quality of the other two, and wasnt' afraid to do what the audiance hated--killing Newt and Hicks.

The alien hybrid, bad jokes, and cloning room all destroy that film in my mind, though some of it is alright for "camp" value.

I agree.

OT: The Boondock Saints, mainly the first one. Rocco always cracked me up, and then there was the scene with the cat...
Well in the movie's defense, pretty much every scene with Rocco aside from the very last one he's in was intended to be funny. Actually, up until the third act I think almost all of it was intended to be funny.

That wasn't supposed to be serious though. That's one of my top five favorite movies.

I thank you for that. That movie was soooooo god awful. It actually did a 720. Shit, so shitty it became funny, back to shit, oh my really this is fucking hilarious, wow what an awful shitty movie. What's worse is that the original is a classic and genuinely creepy.
