It's cliched now, but Portal definitely fits in that category.

Also I have to give a nod to Square (and Yasunori Mitsuda in particular) for the Chrono games, both pioneered whole new ways of going about the JRPG.

Basically anything involving NIS America since they tend to be exactly the contrast I need from the seriousness of most games with their insane stories and large amounts of humor (whether it is any good or not is up for debate). For anything in specific Odin Sphere. It is certainly the best side scrolling beat em up I have ever played.

Fable The Original, the Fable that was Actually Good. And it was the first time I played the XBox And I've been caught ever since...

F A B L E !!!
At this point I'd rather give him more of a slap than a high five, but agreed.
More like a pat on the back and two slaps in the face for the two piss poor sequels.

I would like to give everyone at Quantic Dream (creators of Heavy rain and Farenheit) and Naughty Dog, a huge great big hug, let alone a pat on the back.

They are obviously very talented and very passionate at what they do.

Flower - in a market where most games are about taking life, it was nice to actually give life.
Braid - Are you sure the Princess even exists?
Okami - I felt sad for even the small ball of light that you race.

Machinarium! Please tell me someone else has played this game (which was on sale during the Steam christmas sale).
Got it in the Humble Indie Bundle #2, it's an awesome game. Great art style and atmosphere.

Also, TellTale deserves some credit for their awesome adventure games.

Kirby's Epic Yarn. Yes, it's an intellectual property that's over a decade old, but...yeah.

Killer 7.

I need to go play this again.
Dude, you fucking win by mentioning that game alone. I love Suda51 so much!

OT: I don't think anyone else could have come up with the various ideas and concepts for Viewtiful Joe. I mean, who else could have thought up the coolest cathphrase ever (HENSHIN A GO-GO BABY!!!) and thought of the villains as a T-rex drill sergeant, a big shark with an oxygen tank and goggles (lol, irony) and a snobbish aristocratic man-bat person. Named Charles the third. All this from the same dude who brought us Devil May Cry. Makes sense really.

Crckdown also deserves special mention, if only for being especially fun with a friend online, especially when you have the gettin' busy pack. Actually, it's still fun to this day. And it's cheap. So go buy it. Now.

Costume quest - by double fine, just came out of nowhere really. Got hooked on the demo and just had to buy the full game. A real gem.
Killer 7 - There is absolutely not another game like this, i feel pretty confident saying that. It was complicated and at times scary, but mostly just insane.

Dear Dude who created Cave Story.
Thank you so much. You need to make more 2d sidescrolling platformers.
(double jumping, jetpacks and shooting like a maniac while evil guys flash while you shoot them, this is how every videogame should be like).

Dear Capcom.
Thank you for Megaman, pretty much for the same reason. Thank you for Co-op in Resident Evil 5 (NOT ONLINE). Seriously, in the days where there are no multiplayer games at all, when even racing games do not support split screen, CO-op in the Resident Evil 5 universe was the best thing ever.
However, I know that the new 3D universe of Megaman has many supporters but please, bring back a sidescrollling version and I promise to give you my money.

Dear Hideo Kojima.
Thank you for Metal Gear Solid. I have no idea what is going on, what the plot is or what my mission is, no matter how many hours of dialogue you squeeze in your blu ray disc but thank you anyways.

Dear Castlevania games for Gameboy DS.
Thank you for being so awesome. I love you.

Dear I wanna be the Guy.
Rock on! You are the best.

Dear Silent Hill creators.
There is no other videogame universe that resembles more hell than the Silent Hill universe. Gongratulations. Nothing on my TV ever scared me before (except from the Exorcist when I was like 6 years old) but thank you. They should really create a theme park based on Silent Hill.
(If you actually proceed to create a Silent Hill Land please make sure to include some cheap prostitutes.I really love my cheap prostitutes, so thank you in advanced).

Other than that, I really think that Cave Story fans should create a web page and donate money to pixel studios. Apparently, the dude responsible for the game (yes, only one dude made it possible) is too busy working on a day job thus is unable to create another game. This guy should not have a day job. Justin bieber makes 3million $$$ per second while pixelstudios did not make a dime out of cave story (until the Wii version) it is so unfair, come on internet people are you with me?

PS:Haven't heard of Cave Story? Download it for free within the next one minute.
Go for the Deluxe version http://www.cavestory.org/downloads_game.php.
Do not visit any walkthroughs.

PS2:Yes, I do own every single console game ever and yes apparently I am dissapointed by what has happened to videogames nowadays. No multiplayer? Kinect and wii and shit? They fucking made a brand new Golden Axe game with no multiplayer option!
