im planning to buy this game soon and was wondering if anyone else has played it yet?

i'm having high hopes for it (and if it sucks ill still buy it for the awesome music, hail Frank Klepacki)

Its getting good reviews, but after playing it, I thought dejavu. Supreme commander, C and C 3, and the others that follow suit. You would think RTS would be progressing rather than caught in the venus fly trap of well it worked 10 years ago, why not now.

i played the demo just now, and honestly it doesnt feel anything like those franchise rapers you just named :) (though supreme commander didnt use the actualy franchise name ~~, spiritual succesor...)

as for gameplay, it actually felt somewhat new, the way the hierarchy played was something i havent seen anywhere before, to but i have to wait over a month to get the full game because those bastards arent shipping it to Europe for over a month, wich i dont get and i need to keep myself from going on an epic rant about why the fuck europe gets everything last.

Point taken but, again RTS build big army fight big army, build faster, many and swarm. etc etc etc.

Same deal, no tactics or use of terrain.

Well, almost finished it (~80% of the Masari campaign) and overall its a very neat game. Sure, it doesnt re-invent the wheel of RTS gaming, but finally there is a game with distinct races and playstyles (imo the first since starcraft). Hit and run Novus, brute force Hierarchy etc. Graphics are nice, clever user interface, some moderate voice acting and a well-paced campaign mode.
Havent played the scenario mode yet, going to try that one out after finishing the Masari campaign

actually, use of terrain is in most of RTS's these days... mostly when it comes to line of sight... warcraft 3 could give you some real good adventages due to being higher then your enemy (miss chance, line of sight)
