Scythe for sure. But if we expand the medium to include TV series, the "Vaporizer" from CSI is a serious contender. For those that haven't seen it, it's a big turret-like weapon that shoots enough bullets to cover the entire human body and then some, essentially vaporizing the target and leaving just a few scraps of flesh and blood. The weapon is fictional, but has a sorta "similar" real life component of a weapon capable of firing over 1.5 million rounds per minute.

Funny thing is it's an Aussie firm... and I can't shake this image from my head of WW3 with Aussies riding Kangaroos with these turrets attached to them. Actually, I need to patent that idea and make it happen one day! :D

OT: The final optional summon in Golden Sun: The Lost Age. By the time you get it, there's only one boss left it has a type resistance. The cinematic that goes with it shows your enemies being picked up, beat up, flown into space, and thrown into the sun.
Not forgetting, of course, the myriad of ridiculous summons that you get in even just Golden Sun.

Thor, a Meteor, Judgment, and Boreas.

A Norse god, a meteor, a near-nuclear blast, and a giant ice shaver.

Probably a scythe. Its a farming tool, not a weapon. It would be completely impractical in a real fight, but it looks totally awesome.
Well the sythe does have a bit of psychological edge. I mean what would you think if someone you were fighting looked like this.

F***ing creepy. But yeah it is a farming tool so its not meant for combat.

OT:

F***ing awesome.

EDIT:

F***ing stupid looking.

The Distorted Real Impact move in Devil May Cry 4. It takes a long time to charge up, and you have a more or less nonexistent chance of using it effectively against multiple enemies; but when applied properly, it can kill the colossal city-sized semifinal boss in three hits.

I'll say what I alwast say in these threads, R.Y.N.O 5.
No shit it actually plays the 1812 Overture as you fire it! Could it be more epic??

Wow ninja'd on the first reponce, well played sir, lol. Yes, a scythe, its totally impractical since its a farming tool, but the look awesome. Also, I feel like they could easily be augmented with a few adjacent blades down the handle, ensuring that even partial misses inflict damage. Maybe even a spike on the top for thrusting halberd style.

Insect Swarm from Bioshock. It's a lot of fun to see splicers go crazy getting f-ed up by bees, but the one-two punch really just takes care of everything.

I know this is from numerous anime's and movies, but not a single video game I can find. Leonnulfs wire, "razor wire that you throw around and cut people up with like a puppetmaster aka Hellsing style for example" Is so. Freaking. Awesome.
Completely impossible. -_-
