Hey, I recently came into possession of an Xbox Elite. AFter being a PC gamer for something like 4 years without touching a console I really have no idea what is worth getting for this thing that I can't just get on the PC. So, Escapists, what 360 Exclusive games are worth getting?

Is Alan Wake a 360 exclusive?

EDIT: Just checked, indeed it is.

Fable II, and III are also exclusives. Haven't played the III but I enjoyed the second.

Granted, you probably wanted our opinions, but at least you can see every exclusive now.

Halo Reach, Gears of War, Mass Effect.

Non exclusives you should try are Bioshock (which was a 360 exclusive), GTA 4 and Prototype :)

Even though this isn't an exclusive I would definitely agree in getting this game! It is so much fun.

If you haven't played the first on PC yet, try the entire Fable series.
Halo: Reach is also worth a shot, but I recommend Halo 3: ODST and using the multiplayer disc.

When I think about it there aren't that many exclusives for 360 that are aren't on PC. Off the top of my head I would say Battlestations: Pacific, Gears of War 2, Fable 2 and 3 and Metro 2033.

the mistake doesn't matter, just the fact that it is an amazing game :)

Dead Rising. It's pretty cheap now. You won't get an experience quite like it on any other system.

While technically not an exclusive (it's on PS3 but that version sucks horribly), Bayonetta is worth looking into - I've only played the demo, but from what I saw it's on my must buy list.

Plants vs Zombies, again, technically not exclusive but the 360 version is by far the best.

Gears of War 2 is disappointing to someone used to FPS on a PC, although the story and visuals are pretty cool, the gameplay is lame and would work better with a mouse and keyboard.

Same deal with any of the Halo games, and no way Forge 2.0 compares with Garry's Mod.

Check out the Indie games, most of them are shit, but a few are quite good.

So far, I'd sum up my experience with 360 exclusives as "fun but shallow".

Gears 1&2 are both solid shooters, but environments tend to be samey and the whack-a-mole game play wore on me. The slightly tongue in cheek over the top machismo saves it.

Crackdown--started off being a bit bored with it, but it got wicked fun when the super-powers kicked in. But the lack of story had me vaguely bored with it by game's end.

Just started Fable 2 and I'm enjoying the "freedom" it offers (like the ability to make girls like you by farting), but there doesn't seem to be any depth to the NPCs and the world. If they're not attached to a quest (and often if they are), they only display default personalities. Definity a series to watch because when it all comes together it will be brilliant, but this installment is wafer thin and all the fart joked and used condoms can't change that.

I'll get to Mass Effect and Alan Wake before too long.

I saw the title of the thread and thought it had to do with the Escapist series Unskippable. Crazy.

Halo Reach.

This as well. Also Crackdown 2, ignore some of the negative reviews :)
