Unskippable: Arc Rise Fantasia

Okay, seriously. Somebody explain to me why the Japanese have such massive hard-ons for boats that fly instead of sail and boys with swords almost as big or bigger than they are. DOES NOT COMPUTE.

Beyond that though, fantastic episode. I too will be weary of brown hail in the future, and I love that the Wiimote shut off just as gameplay was about to begin. Perfect timing right there! Love it.

Also I would pre-order the hell out of Efulgant Vanguard.

Weird **** can sound plausible given the right voice acting (Persona and DDS). Other RPGs have writing that screws them up (Eternal Sonata). This cutscene had both in the extreme category of crap.

As for the scene.. Huh.. I happen to be a -fan- of most JRPG's like Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Lufia and Terranigma.. But wow, I think I'm wise enough to steer well away from that game. The voice acting is terrible, the sudden "THERE WAS A WAR BUT IT'S GONE NOW IT IS MORNING YAY!" thing was.. A thing.

actually if was fighting dragons on airships above the clouds and somebody fell of the airship.. i'd expect him to have died. though yeah.. the guy could've wondered more about the war.. or skirmish or.. maybe it was just dragon hunting season?

All I got out of that game footage was three things:
1) L'Arc is a pussy.
2) Ryfia is a retard.
3) Arc Rise Fantasia kills your Wii Remote.

I had to laugh about the Wii-remote shutting itself off, because that happened to me while playing Star Ocean: The Last Hope. My 360 controller shut itself off in the middle of a cutscene, but instead of giving me an warning message, the thing just froze so I thought it had crashed. Luckily I happened to glance at the controller before resetting the console.

Incidentally do strange girls come out and sing every time a Dragon dies in this game?

Also Spheria Chronicles and Blue Cross Diaries both sound like games I would actually play.

I've thought that a few times about this series. Maybe we can convince one of the guys to suck in a helium balloon and OD on steroids for an episode.

The dragon commited suicide to avoid being in a shitty game...it erupting into flames was just that...when pigs fly...and you probably at them

The Wiimote took the honorable way out instead of suffering through that game...

It makes sense, because Nintendo is Japanese, and the Japanese had Samurai, and the Samurai were all about honor...

This game is a good example of why i doubt things from Japan, even though that is wrong. I also don't trust things from America or Australia.

Dear god's! That was without a doubt one of the most terrible cut-scenes created.

I pity you LRR team for having to watch that multiple times.

Just when I thought the animation couldn't get any worse, the voice acting struck, then the horribly foreseeable start of the love interest.

And as a final note, why are 90% of JRPG main characters 14 years old yet more mighty then anyone who's gone through puberty?

I had that same thought. And yeah, she knew 'weirdo' but not 'girl' or 'rude'. And she took care of the dragon, what the heck did she need him for?


I've gotten to the point then whenever I see JRPGs I want to just throw them away. I mean, predictable and annoying and Christ on a cracker.
