*Super sigh at frequently over used intro jrpg tropes.*
This introduction, I swear, is the same intro to almost every jprg Unskippable has covered. Almost. Spikey haired kid (how much you wanna bet, in the manual, his age is like, 15, or 16), big sword, unarmored, followed by cute subservient girl/future love interest. Lots of "huh," and general confusion spouted by the boy. Oh, and she's probably all of 14, but the manual will call her 16.
At least, these tropes were put into fast forward. I felt as in everything interpersonal was highly rushed. Which, if the cutscene was long enough to deactivate a wii-mote, then that's probably, ultimately, a good thing. But for quality sake, the devs likely have zero experience developing an attachment with the characters. Their one opportunity to win me over with a good first impression, and they botched the job. No doubt for more face time with Dragons, and physics defying falling-landings.
[sub]Really, his kick off the dragon would have to equal terminal velocity (he was falling long enough and high enough to reach it) to counter the fall.
