Anyone notice there was a "/" right after a question mark in the subtitles? Geeze this looks like a VERY low quality game.
But that's the beauty of it. I can't explain it very well, because it's a game that you just need to play for yourself in order to truly get what I'm saying. It
knows that it's bad - but it's just so bad, that it manages to pull it off flawlessly.
I mean, the setting is dull but surreal, the characters are eccentric but interesting, and the dialogue is right out of left field, but crafted masterfully.
It's incredible.[footnote]So says Mr. Stewart[/footnote]
You would think that Deadly Premonition would be a quick cash-in that took maybe a year to develop, where it's actually spent
years in development. The earliest point in it's history that I can recall was back in 2007, and research even states that it's been tossed around earlier than that.
As Jim Sterling from Destructoid puts it:
"It stumbles, psychotically, from one unbelievable scene to the next, managing to be shockingly tasteless, flagrantly stupid, and subtly self-aware at all times." [http://www.destructoid.com/review-deadly-premonition-165168.phtml]
Truly a game that shares a tier of brilliance with No More Heroes. A "beautiful trainwreck," if you will.
[sub][sub]And if anyone is at all interested and you do
not own an Xbox, it is known as
Red Seeds Profile in Japan, and yes, it is English on the PS3. It will cost quite a bit more to import it, but I
highly recommend you do so.[/sub][/sub]
