The fuck did I just watch?!

Seriously, I have no clue at all what that game is supposed to be about.
It's a mediocre sequel to a much better game.
Yeah the first was amazing, but the second, is terrible, just terrible in comparison and I heard in general.

Heh. Truth be told, I love this game, and the scenes aren't that bad (once you learn to ignore that courage turns dreams to reality), but that was still pretty funny.
OMG......I couldn't agree with you more!!! If he'd said that one....more....time...........

OT: I was amused by this episode, but, having played the first game (as well as this game), that cutscene makes a lot more sense to me. I love the Tales games! Though this isn't as awesome as Tales of Symphonia (the first one) or Tales of the Abyss I still really enjoyed it

I laughed even on a second watching. It starts out a bit slow, but I was consistently laughing after the line about giving birth to a monster. The editing and delivery made this quite amusing. It may have helped that I don't know this game, but I do know some other JRPG's.

It's called "play the game to find out." Me, I've kind of forgotten the reason (been a while since I last played), but it's all a spoiler no matter how you slice it.

Anyways, I for one really liked this game. And most of your jokes don't work since 1. They are answered in the first game and 2. That "I still have more questions, what was the point" joke was uninformed and desperate and you know it. It wouldn't be a very intriguing story if it was "this is what you look like, kill people with different hats"; the mystery and questions you have at the start are put there on purpose, and they will be answered...provided you give the game a chance.

Laughed a lot at the door creaking joke, and the mattel one. And the magic 8 ball one.
Though not in that order, unsuprisingly.
Yeah, good stuff, the the creaking one almost made me spit my coke. I should know better than to watch these with a mouthful of anything.

It all makes slightly more sense when you know this is the opening cinematic of a sequel game.
That's good. :) Cause I was going to say these events they're setting up as history sound WAY more interesting than current events happening in the game.

Irving? Someone in Japan is living as a low grade writer, and is easily impressed. :)

Lloyd is the name they went with? Lord Sauron, Anton Chigurh, Lloyd Irving.

I mean in the name of... Lloyd.
In FF10, I felt that way about Seymour. That is just not the name you use to set someone up as an antagonist early in a game. That name makes people laugh. I haven't played, but lets say that Lloyd doesn't stay an antagonist. He pulls a Magus ala Chrono Trigger (even the reference is to cool for this games cinematic); then the writer needs an ambiguous name. One that could go either way.

Names are hard. But Lloyd isn't even trying. Like Seymour.

Those jokes did fall a little flat (more or less what I expected, really; even if they were willing to give JRPGs any sort of chance, they're not trying to be fair, but comedic), but I found most of the other ones still worked.

And yeah, I loved this game, too.

ratatosk is a magic squirrel in norse mythology.

Why would you pray to a squirrel?
Because in this case, the squirrel controls all the world's monsters.

With a name like Ratatosk, I was expecting a pokemon joke.
So was I. She was clutching a round object...IT WOULD HAVE BEEN SO EASY!
Which is exactly why they didn't do it. A joke isn't funny if everyone has already heard it.
I disagree. I guess it's just they were going for a slightly more high-brow joke.

Just because I've heard a joke doesn't mean it's not funny the next time I hear it. If that was the case, I'd never buy a comedy on DVD.

My god was that a piss poor sequel to an overall great game. I'm sorry to all those who liked it (The sequel that is) but it was nothing but a cash-in on the fanbase of the first Tale of Symphonia. They even dared to reuse environnements.

Liked the original. Not that great, but it was good. Hated the sequel (This game). Glad to see it get the US treatment.
You mean the Canadian treatment.

(Just kidding, I know it means Unskippable)

This was literally hilarious review.. loved the quotes especially like with the new tree and the girl having a glowing rock in her head Haha XD classic.
It's not a review. And literally hilarious is redundant, as something can't be figuratively hilarious. Just letting you know.
