You have been selected for a special task force in the HAC (Humanity Armed Corps), on the vessel UNSS Nyx. This RP is sci-fi set in the year 2245. You have some kind of service history in the HAC, therefore you must be human. (We don't want people to come up with fived legged, ten tentacled aliens with a gun for a face). Your character sheet must contain: Name, Gender, Age, Rank (anything below captain, don't all put leutenant), Specialization (Medic, Soldier, Engineer, Agent or a hybrid), Pre-service and Service history (backstory) and reason for assignment. We reserve the right not to accept trenchcoats or piss takes. Application ends at 21:00 Saturday, 6th Febuary. I'm the main GM for this post and Gallagherhjh is helping. Please when applying don't make yourself a general or admiral or something stupid and if you choose a low rank you are under no direct obligation to obey orders, however you may want to for the RP effect. <*spoiler=label>[/spoiler] ommitting the * will create a character sheet just change the label to character shet you can also use this for OOC. Pre-service History: Lived on earth until aged 18 when he joined the HAC, left behind a life of mediocrity for hopes of serving his race.
Service History: Little active service. Fast tracked to officer ranks. Lead a squad during the assault of Arca and the liberation of Augustine. Considered a Soldiers officer.
Reason for assignment: Recommended for leadership abilities and commendable service on both active assignments.

Hello all, I'm here also here is my character sheet:

Name: Gallagher
Age: 20
Rank: Recruit
Specialization: medic
Pre-service History: An uninteresting and socially awkward child, Gallagher grew up on the colony world Augustine, and was attracted by the order and uniformity provided by the military after the near destruction of His Home-world by extra-terrestrial forces.
Service history:has worked as a medic with service personnel wounded from UN HAC engagements across the local bubble.
Reason for assignment: Often easy to sway, Gallagher is the UN's undercover agent, if the mission goes awry, not that he knows this...

Specialization: Engineer/Soldier

Pre-service History: Solomon grew up in the city of Zagreb, Croatia. He was raised in poverty, and never really had much opportunity to do much with his life. His father was a mechanic, and he expected his son to become one as well. His father taught him a lot about mechanic work and engineering. When Sol told his parents he was joining the HAC, they had mixed feelings. His father was disappointed that he would not become a mechanic, but grudgingly respected his choice. His mother did not want him to go out and get himself killed, but eventually came around to the idea.

Service History: Solomon has seen a lot of action. His unit always seemed to be at the right place at the wrong time during an attack. Due to his adept skill at repairing and even creating tech, as well as being a skilled fighter, he was promoted to his current rank despite his young age.

Reason for Assignment: Recommended for engineering skills as well as fighting ability.

OOC: now we are introduced, here is some more background information:

the RP is set in the local Bubble

The three stars in the bubble on the picture are the systems with current human activity, the two previously mentioned planets are found in the Antares system.

(yes we did just get it from wikimedia commons, yes it is 2D, No it isn't an accurate portrayal of possible human exploration)

The HAC has hostile relations with "the extraterrestrial forces" who they are and their motives are deliberately left blank, Equally the mission of the UNSS Nyx is unknown, however this will be revealed as the RP progresses.

Right ok I've pulled my finger out at long last and I thought rather than restart this post elsewhere I'll try to get this one back up and running. So please start posting your sheets again and I'll close the applications when I feel we have enough people.

Pre-service History: born in the inter city, she always wanted to see space and get out of the buildings. at age 18, she joined the marines to see if she couldn't find some action in the coming war
Service History: was part of a frontal assault on a enemy bunker during the enemy occupation of Jupiter,
Reason for assignment: Military Police man(MP for short)and security if the Nyx is attacked.

Name: Vidmir Repzik

Gender: Male

Age: 42

Rank: Corporal (NCO)

Specialization:Shock Trooper/Radio specialist

Pre-service History: Born on the 3rd moon of the colony Ice planet of Dinikkin, Vidmir would grow up on the Urbanised Satellite moon, working part time in the moons Planatary communications hub, when he became old enough he had dreams for better, bigger things, to escape this frozen wasteland, but in order to do so he required an education, and education costed money, In order to pay for it he signed up for the military who offered to pay for a recruits education after their Tour of duty, not a militant man, but lacking any other options, Repzik signed up for the Dinikkin Armed forces.

Service History:He served in the Dinikkin armed forces for a time, dealing with the various rebel groups that plagued the planet, this long conflict between the planet goverment and the rebels lasted ten years, during these wars Repzik would gain his experiance with trench and bunker warfare. the raw recruit would become a hardened veteran of the Dinikkin campain, which would conclude with the assualt of the last Rebel stronghold at "Hill 676", Repziks Division would suffer heavy casualties, him being the last of 217 surviviors, Repziks unit being the first to take over the Central bunker atop the hill.

A few years later he would be transfered to the Dinikkin Ship "Liberation" which patroled the system, he would come into combat with many renegade ships and smugglers in the system, adding to his already long military career, it would be during these ship engagments that he would gain his experiance at ship boarding, soon however his luck would turn, when a grenade in the tight corridors of a rebel ship tore up his right arm, this would be replaced by a crude Bionic one, being unable to afford some of the latest forms of bionics he had to settle for an old 3rd generation Bionic arm.

Later nearing his 40th Birthday his ship was engadged and destroyed by an unknown ship of unknown origins, it would be one of the many engagments between humanity and this unknown race would experiance, Repzik was among the survivors who escaped in the Life Pods, and was later saved by the Nyx, where he has been sationed ever since as a crew member and Long-Range Radio Operator.


Reason for assignment: His Extensive experiance with combat,ship boarding,ground assault and to act as an advisor to Officers in the field

I left the Service history blank because i have to go, will finish it tommorow if thats alright?

Pan that's fine, should we scrap the idea of classes as so far two people have gone off the original ideas. I'm happy to if you guys would like to as it would allow for more flexibility. My only concern is having too much to remember. Just as a point please read the first 4 posts especially the ones by Gallagher as I feel those will be crucial to the story.
