Very simple thread topic here folks. How do you unwind at the end of the day?

For me nowadays it's usually been working out every other night and then drinking a glass of red wine while listening to music. Usually Gojira or Miracle of Sound right now.

It's been my habit as of late mostly becuase I just moved and great french and Italian wines are dirt cheap and also becuase I don't have anygames to play at the moment.

I mean I have my 3DS, but I've beaten most of the games on it except for the original super mario and Metroid II.

What do you guys do to relax? Video games? Whiskey? Kinky roleplay sex? Also any tips on chilling for the chronically anxious out there?

I don't.

I'm always angry and stressed, all the time, and absolutely nothing and no one can do anything to change that. I'm the most tense MFer on the planet, and I'm so gorram edgy that you'll get papercuts just from reading my posts.

I drink hard cider and listen to music in the dark.

On Fridays I watch Mysteries at the Museum on the Travel Channel, there's something about that show that puts me to sleep.

I used to read, I should start again. I bet Sandman would be good to read before bed.

Mostly chatting and joking around. Video games too of course, but that depends on the game. Sometimes they are not so relaxing. Like getting to a point in a game where I realize I may need to start over after hours...

Also watching shows online. Don't have to do anything my so...

And listening to music late at night generally past the time I should have just gone to sleep but stubbornly refuse to

During the weekdays I go training, I hang out with friends, I play video games, do yoga... I'm a pretty active person. On weekends I party.

I sit in dark rooms, imagine monsters in the dark for a bit, and then come to terms with the fact that no sudden monsters are going to end my pain.

Oh, and watch terrible reality television.

Nibble on a carrot and watch Watership Down, because its nice to reconnect to the stories of my people. :D

Hypothetically if I was a human I'd probably plug my headphones in, switch on a podcast or music and go for a long walk. There is something meditative about walking to music which seems to calm the nerves.

A little whiskey helps on those days when things have been a little overly stressful.

I come home, pretty much instantly strip my clothes, and switch into my comfortable cloths. I then usually check out forum games and my user groups here, listen to some music, or watch a few YouTube videos. That's how I unwind.

Relaxing? Nice warm bath, a good book, a cup of tea. Not necessarily in that order. Snuggling with my boyfriend, talking with my friends in general. Playing the piano.

I will say that if there's something making me feel nervous and it's an ongoing thing I can't relax though. Or at least I haven't found any way to. Like if there's something I feel like I ought to be doing I'm going to be anxious until I've done it or the situation has changed to resolve it. Happens at work sometimes, I plan to get something finished and something comes up so I can't and that... yeah. Hate that feeling that I'm constantly letting people down until it's done.

Toss on some netflix, slink into bed with the wife and wrap up with a body pillow... or if I'm really frazzled/stressed load up War Thunder or something else to blow up or shoot down (or just shoot)... Or maybe Shadows of Mordor, decimating Uruks is fun.

I'll be honest with you: when work is done and it's time to go home, I like to celebrate the evening by enjoying a light meal, sitting down with my family and having a big wank watching whatever crap's on the television for a few minutes, then retiring to my quarters to read. And then perhaps post in EVERY SINGLE FORUM GAME EVER MADE. Or not. Depends on how I feel.

Cook a nice meal, read for a bit then pour myself a glass of wine and watch an evening film. Of those three I would say that cooking is the most relaxing - it sets the evening off just so, fills my place with layer upon layer of wonderful aromas, and simply the act of sitting down to a good home-cooked meal gives a fantastic sense of a job well done regardless of how well (or poorly) the day has gone.

I sit in a dark room chewing on a popstick obsessively thinking about all the sexism in the world and in games and being angry

OT: actual answer I like to just watch a TV show, turn my mind off or I might read

I also exercise...I wouldn't call it chilling out but its a satisfying feeling knowing I'm not being a complete lard-ass 24/7

I sit back on a beach with no shoes on, stick my feet into the sand, close my eyes, and plug in:

Unfortunately I don't live anywhere near a beach, so I only relax maybe 5 days a year : P
