Greetings fellow escapists. I've slowly been crawling out of my musically deprived existence and haven been exploring different types of music.

In particular I'm quite enjoying some jazz songs. The only issue I find it that a lot jazz songs I've been running across tend to be a bit slower. That's fine for a few songs but trying to comprise an entire list of such songs isn't exactly what I'd like to listen to for extended periods.

So this is why I've turned to you, Escapists. I'd like to find more jazz songs that are more "upbeat" for lack of a better word. There's so many different jazz I have no real idea what to start, often I find even similar songs to be hit or miss for me. Any suggestions or starting places you guys could suggested would be appreciated.

As an example of what I'm sort of thinking of:

This song is a little more electronic and more lounge-ish but I hope it's still jazzy enough for your tastes :)

This one is closer to what you want maybe, it's a song loop from an old video game that I loved.

Sorry if this doesn't show up quite right, obviously I don't post enough to have the hang of the forum codes, but...

Oh come on now. Really guys? Nothing about this yet?

All is well with the world.

Oh and considering my ongoing Katawa Shoujo binge this is rather appropriate:

Cowboy Bebop's The Seatbelts

Get everybody and their stuff together...
Definitely. and if you like that, listen to what inspired it: Charles Mingus
Especially songs like iiBS

and Moaning

Let me know if you like those. I have a lot more suggestions. I've been a big jazz fan since I was a baby.

I find your lack of Bop disturbing, I've been sort of into Jazz since reading Kerouac I keep expanding my library of records whenever I can get to the record shop. (I've just realised how hipster this sentence is becoming and now I Feel dirty, but still cool)

Yo, I can't speak on behalf of the op, but I dug that, so thanks for posting it.

As for my contributions, the classic Take Five by Dave Brubeck:

Not as upbeat, but must be heard.

And the jazz-ish opening theme to JoJos Bizarre Adventure, because I love JoJo (warning: Japanese lyrics):

Thanks for all the suggestions. I don't have time to go through them all right now though.

Ah my gateway drugs. I love these just trying to branch out a bit there. Actually the same group that performed the song I posted did a cover for TANK! that I quite like as well:
