Not to be mean, but have you checked the sales' numbers? How about the fact that the japanese do not like FPS games, and yet the 360 excels in that department?

Right now the Wii is Japan's favorite console, with the Ps3 in second place. I don't think the 360's even sold over million units there.

I'm going to point this out for the umptenth time that anything that comes out of Kaz Hiari's mouth is worthless drivel. It is not purposly harder it is just different, just like the PS2 wasn't made with pitfalls in mind it was just different than before.

This is what stops the PS3 from being Exactly like the X-box when the Console was originally released in 2006 the Dev Kits released WITH the console were bare bones and bad, hence why there was such difficulty before hand, however that difficulty has been rendered MOOT as people have now learned the code. Activision is definitly not struggling with the code as they have never complained, plenty of companies talk about how once they know HOW to code for it it's SIMPLE.

the price of the ps3 is an overated myth, to get the xbox to near the functionality of the ps3 your only going to spend an less $30-$50 than the price of a standard ps3 oh and i'd clearly pay $30-$50 call it the RROD avoindance warranty -plus why is nobody questioning MS about the price drop for Live? it should be free,

you get what you pay for.

XBL - Party chat, video chat, exclusive content, a robust trueskill matchmaking system, achievments, marketplace, expanded profile.

PSN - store, "trophies", friends list. (there may be more, but can't find out atm, so don't hate on me)

Plus sony charges devs for a game demo's bandwidth useage (i.e each 1Gb demo file costs them $0.15 a player who downloads it).

I read the first few pages of responses and felt it was utter drivel. The PS3 dead within a year if they are dropped by Activision? What crud. (It won't happen in my view - it was a bluff, an idle threat to try and force Sony into a move they are already planning).

I have both a 360 and a PS3 and I firmly believe that only competition will drive quality control in ANY market and especially when Microsoft is one of the contenders. MS are internationally famous for their monopolising tactics in the PC market which ultimately lead to poorer and poorer software due to not having to give a damn about what anyone wanted because no one could produce anything better. Microsoft's monopoly of PC software has held it back at least a generation in terms of productive development. You want that to happen to gaming?

Do you seriously want the only consoles available all from Microsoft? The only alternative is PC - oh right, Microsoft again. Or Nintendo who seem preoccupied with taking gaming in the Fisher Price direction and in my mind are in a league of their own nowadays. Seriously, get a grip. The world of gaming needs the competition between Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft to spur on newer and better technologies. You think Natal or the Playstation Motion Sensor would exist if it wasn't for the ridiculously huge success of the Wii? No, no it wouldn't. Now the creators of more 'hardcore' IPs will be looking into implementing this technology that has continuously been regarded as 'casual only'. Now that's progress you wouldn't see if one of the major players like Sony bowed out of gaming - because why would MS need to get an edge over a non-existant competitor? They certainly aren't going to dent the Wii's market share.

The PS3 is far from dead, and if anything is a good contender for the console of choice over the next few years; especially after the Slim is released (which it will be) and that will inevitable lead to a price cut as the cost of a Slim will be much less than the current SKUs. I firmly believe Sony will do this though when it is financially viable to do so, they're not holding out on purpose for the fun of it.

Not hating, just clarifying.

PSN has party chat, video chat and exclusive content. It has a good matching system and trophies (which imo are better than the achievements/gamescore system as your "score" clearly indicates your skill level. i.e. A high gamer score can be achieved from playing a million mediocre games in a mediocre way. Whereas you can only achieve gold/platinum trophies by actually being good. PSN has the store too which has movies and TV shows.

So the gap between PSN and XBL is ever decreasing and when you don't pay a penny for PSN that's a pretty sweet deal. I use my PS3 much more than my xbox because of this reason, I've paid for the damn console I don't want to be paying monthly to use the damn thing!

Yer well metal gear is apparently more popular in europe than stateside there fan boys aplenty in the uk of mgs even though I think load bollox. But I agree with the rest of your agruement anybody who say not making games for the ps3 is quite frankly just wrong there's no opinion in it: for the reason that its not good business as in the cost and the development time and redistribution of resources are too much for most companies and the companies that can see little motivation to do so due Sony's business tactics and small profit margin's from such ventures.

Ok, well I'm done with this. Arguing with someone who can't take a hint is not of any interest to me. But none of this will matter. When push comes to shove and Activision has to make it's decision, then we'll see who is right. But I'm growing tired of declaring myself and someone else a winner or a loser. All I'm saying is that I've never heard of anything like this happening before, and to Sony no less. That is why I think Sony is in trouble. Having one of your major publishers run off is not good for business. And if Activision leaves who else might decide to pack it in?
