edit: also, does anyone know how much $299.99 is in British pounds? Cause it costs £140 to get my 60gb PS3 repaired... might it be cheaper to just wait for the slim?

Hehe, I know exactly how you feel because I felt the same way when I learned that for three whole years they built them specifically to red ring. It wasn't until '09 that they finally started building Pro's and such like Elites did I finally get one handed to me (free, including apologies and hookers). That 360? Is that true or is it still a rumor: that they rushed the 360 out to get the year's jump even though they knew about the rrod. I find it hard to believe they knew about the rrod specifically: they would've known the repair costs would add up the way they have. It's a good thing the brand is owned by MS. Any other company would've gotten thrashed by those costs.

Well then don't get one? Don't be smart-assy with me, youngun, I said "for all the people who say "I'll buy a PS3 when it's $100 cheaper" or some crap, buy it now, no excuses." It's just that so many people have said "I'll buy one when it's $20/$50/$100/$300 cheaper!" and yet even when the price did lower down to the amount, they just wanted it to lower more and more and more.
