Did they make it into an MMO yet? No? Okay then, call me when they do; I've got a loaded catapult of money with their name on it.
If you want a Pokemon MMO just go search PokeMMO on google.
Not official but it is still a pokemon mmo.
I already tried it, wasn't very impressed, and I was a little shocked they had the balls to have micro-transactions; it's like they're taunting Nintendo's lawyers.

Or better yet, Charizaur - a dual type Fire/Dragon that, instead of Blaze for an ability, has Levitate.
You sir/madam are a genius. I know this is ridiculous buuutt...
What about megadeoxy or megaacreus? Just to be ott.
Maybe even... dear I say it?.. Megapikachu!

I believe the designs are based off of Yveltal and Xerneas, note the runes seen on Megalucario's leg or the Different colors on Blaziken.

Do they look familiar?

The plot has got to revolve around DNA being fucked with because just look at the title of the japanese versions

The DNA strand can be seen right up the middle there (It's all rainbow-y)

Gamefreak, well played.
This, all of this. Pokemon Black and White had it's themes (opposing philosophies) match up with this title. X & Y is doing it mechanically as well. They're taking the game in a good direction I think. While Mewtwo, Lucario and Blaziken are already godly in their tiers, I'm glad Ampharos, Mawile, and Absol are getting some upgrades (and more old pokemon are for that matter). Dream world made some forgotten pokes more viable in 5th gen. This Mega evolution stuff is doing it in a different way this gen. I'm down for it

Sounds like a good way to keep the older Pokemon from becoming useless as the general stat totals keep increasing. That being said, I hope that the designs for these new forms end up being more diverse than what's seen on that page. Right now, it looks like they're using "give it wavy hair and a bottle of Loreal" as their main design strategy for these mega forms. Regardless, I do like the concept of mega forms

It's sir. Or Captain. I respond to "Captain" more than my real name, anyways.

Upon further thought, the only legendary that would need a "mega" upgrade would be...none of them. There's a reason why they're legendaries.

But of all Pokemon that could use an upgrade, even a mega one, it would be Delibird. Just give him a moveset or whatever, it shouldn't take a mega-evolution.

IMO, mega-evolutions should be limited to Pokemon that do not have a traditional evolution (level, stone, friendship, etc.). That said, Druddigon is a first that comes to mind, only just so I can say Megadigon. I have a notebook of various Pokemon concepts, most of them dragons or related to myths:

Ghost/Dragon: Spectrelp, Spectrake and Spectragon

Ground-to-Rock-to-Steel/Dragon: Scalvae, Shelurm and Armoroth

Fire/Dragon: Charizaur (evolves with item+friendship)

Grass/Poison-to-Fire: Wurmash and Lavydra

Fire/Flying - Chicoom and Thermenix

New Eevees - Shadeon (Ghost) and Metalleon (Steel)

Rock-to-Rock/Flying - Marbewt and Chalcatrice

These are but a few. I do so like to have an active imagination.

You guy's do know that the mega forms are only temporary right? They seem to only last in battle and the pokemon changes back afterward. and I'm assuming that it's tied to pokemon-ami and that they must be consumables or something. Remember I'm on assuming the pokemon-ami part.
Huh, so they're battle-only forms? This I don't mind at all. I wonder if it's kind of like a "limit break" kinda deal? Only time will tell, I guess.

Kangaskhan has been confirmed to have a mega form:

Her mega ability is Parental Bond, which allows her to attack twice in one turn.

You can't deny that this is epic.
[sub]credit goes to Sa-Dui on DA[/sub]

Now if only there was a confirmed Mega Crobat or Mega Zangoose/Seviper, don't know how they'll do it, then I will be truly happy. On second thought, maybe they should give some love to Farfetch'd (did he do something to the director and since then he needed to be screwed over in whatever gen he shows up in?), Dunsparce, and Spinda... maybe Sableye since its the version exclusive opposite to Mawile and if they don't evolve it.

They're confirmed to be pokemon-specific hold items, like what Shaymin and Giratina use to transform into their other forms. The Torchick that they're giving away already on release comes with its 'Mega Stone', called Blazikenite which is not found in the game, to transform in battle to Mega Blaziken. Other stones like Lucarionite, which is confirmed, are in the regular game and I guess some others might only be available via wi-fi giveaways, like Torchick's.

if it's going to be connected to events, it can go fuck itself. I've become more resistant to events ever since I started playing, and now I wish they'd just cut that shit out. Put the fucking Pokemon in the fucking Pokemon game you bastards.
This. A THOUSAND TIMES THIS!
Got really tired of this bullshit, it's the big reason I just stopped playing. Do they still use the tagline 'Gotta Catch 'em All'?

Fettered with LIES!
You know...you can easily transfer the previous 300+ Pokemon to the new game. Which meant anyone who played the games since Diamond and Pearl (or even Ruby and Sapphire) only need to collect the new additions plus whatever old ones they missed.
Since each game takes about 3-5 years before a new one comes out that is often plenty of time to "Catch Them All"
There's still the odd Pokemon that can only be aquired from events and if you don't live near them, well sucks to be you. I miss the days of Pokemon Stadium that let you get Mew if you 100% the thing (if I remember correctly), Celebi from Pokemon Stadium 2, and Ho-oh from Colosseum and Lugia from XD. I want to be rewarded for playing the game, not participating in a PR Stunt.
The only way I could get a Celebi was to cheat with Action Replay... and making everything shiny and know Volt Tackle.
That has been the case since...Gold and Silver I believe. Also, they have made it much easier now. Before you had to go to a very specific (and very far) event to get those Pokemon. Now all you need to do is simply go to your local Gamestop. Even better, most of the events even now simply require a wifi connection at home.
The only Pokemon right now that I know you cannot attain through normal means if you miss the event are Meloetta and Keldeo. Even then I know from past history that they will simply host a wifi event and you can get them eventually at the comfort of your own home.

This may come across as hypocritical coming from the guy that hosts The Escapist's resident Pokemon-themed game, but I'm always a little weary whenever a new batch of Pokemon are announced. The designs are getting repetitive and boring, sometimes incredibly idiotic (furniture Pokemon?!), they've already adapated the same animals several times, and all I can think of is "there goes 100 more reasons why we will never catch them all". Ken Sugimori can and will rotoscope the same cutesy rodents and threatening reptiles for the rest of his life, and people will buy them like it's novelty.
It's like Sugimori can't win.

His team is either criticized for trying to hard by basing Pokemon off of mythological creatures and more obscure types of animals, or he is criticized for basing Pokemon once again on basic animals.

I mean...what do you want from them?
They are damned either way so perhaps them just making whatever looks good works for them the best instead of appealing to one or the other spectrum of complaints.
I think he wants them to stop adding new ones.
Aside from the fact that it's unfair to the artists who enjoy making things on a daily basis.
Pokemon only survives through having different strategies and using a variety of Pokemon.
The game would lose it's charm very fast if it only stuck to the original Pokemon. It would be the same strategies, the same Pokemon, and usually- the same outcome.
By adding more Pokemon you allow for different team varieties and specialties, and overall it's more fun.

Do you understand how much I squealed at the screen seeing baby khangaskhan finally come out of it's pouch?

I mean, they have done it before, but this is so much more refined.

Even more exciting, note the baby has its own, separate model and new art assets. Could this be a pre-evolution of Kangaskahn? ... a "Rooblaikahn", if you will.

From a different angle, and cleaner:

PS Edit: A rather creepy thought has occurred to me... Since the "mega evolution" sees little change to the original body, what if Kangaskahn actually IS the "baby"? and it pilots the body of its "mother" like a fleshy mech suit?

I wonder if we will finally get a "male" khangaskhan. Note how different the baby looks. Aside from color it also has spikes in places the mother doesn't.

I think the Mega stone actually affects the child more than anything. It looks much bigger than it's pouch counterpart and more able to attack.

And yet even that's a headache. I've been trying to cheat with theis website someone informed me of, but I can't even get my DS to link up to my Wi-fi. Tried setting it to WEP and everything, but it still karks itself. This is why the Pokemon MMO will never happen, because Nintendo wouldn't know what to do with an internet connection even if I paid them for it.

The Wifi with Pokemon has always been stellar, and I never experienced any problems with battling people online.
I have personally never experienced any problems with downloading anything from Pokemon either.
Dreamworld was pretty good, and streamlined enough to be used by a good amount of people.
At most it takes me 1 minute. At least about 45 seconds.

Also, your using a website for cheating...I wouldn't expect it to work great. I also don't know how you using an outside source to connect your DS to and surprisingly having it not work is Nintendo's fault.

Doesn't work as in I can't even connect my DS to the internet as the DS starts crying if you're using a WPA key. Tried tinkering with my security for hours on end to no avail, to which I just got to the point of 'fuck it'. Nintendo's falicy is their online structure, from the store, to friend codes, the whole thing was/is just so dated and unintuitive.

If a websites mantra is 'less clicks the better', then a games should be 'less fiddle shit and hoops the better'. And I'm going to be arsed if I'm going to buy a DS that can handle a WPA key for one sodding game that may not do this weird sus thing I'm trying.

Sorry if it sounds like a rant, but the whole 'messing around with shit only to end up at square one' sort of puts me in a sour mood.

Take it from a previous DS lite owner- don't bother with the wifi for the DS. That was a huge peev of mine when I got my first DS handheld.
All DS models pre DSi CANNOT connect to any wireless router with anything above WEP in security.
I have no clue why Nintendo did that for the DS (but not the Wii oddly enough) however, yes. You might as well upgrade to a DSi or 3DS for easy wifi connection.

EDIT: This extends to the games as well. Any game prior to B/W (I'm going by Pokemon versions here) also cannot properly connect to wifi routers with security above WEP encryption.

Yeah, I know they've improved things, it's just a bad case of too little, too late. As I said, I can't be buggered buying a new DS because the only thing I used to play was Pokemon and the new ones don't get my enthusiasm pumping. If I was going to invest in a hand held I'd probably go for a Vita... if it had a Pokemon equivilent. An easy to play RPG with collectable monsters, fuckin' do it Sony.
