Look Wachowskis, the last movie in the franchise was a flop, and we're still trying to forget that disastrous sequel even after 8 years, so I think you should really let bygone film franchises be bygones.

Oh, and I think Keanu's a bit too sad to do any more acting now.

it would be cool if they did prequals, showing the stories of the previous "The One"s that came before Neo

I was waiting when some asshole was going to come around and go "You know what franchise/series we need to milk? The Matrix movies." I knew it was coming. I just fucking knew it.

Seriously?
Is it that fucking hard to even TRY to make something new? Is Hollywood, nay, ALL of entertainment so addicted to sequel-exploitation that they can't make ANYTHING original?

So are they going to disregard Matrix 2 and 3 and diverge down another path like a What If? comic storyline, or is this a continuation of the current Matrix trilogy? I think it would be better to disregard the last two movies myself, but I guess we'll see if they ever get the green light for this one.

EDIT: Or it could be a complete hoax, whatever...

minus keanu's acting, i loved the first one. I liked the second one, it was...fine. actually i dont remember it much. the third one was dreadful, however, the story ended. Neo DIED. as in dead. there is no room for a sequel.

to express how little i want this to happen, allow me to say i would much rather have another starwars trilogy made by george lucas than another matrix movie made by the watchowsky brothers

I'm embarrassed to admit that the idea of the cinematography the Matrix pioneered appearing in 3D actually sounds kind of interesting. Embarrassed because a significant part of my brain cries "Why?!" at the idea of more Matrix movies. Even if the last two movies weren't pseudo-philosophical, everything-but-the-kitchen-sink exercises in excess that still managed to fail to impress, the "Neo" storyline was rather obviously and completely finished. I'm almost as nonplussed at the idea of them trying to explain the effort to shoehorn in ghosts or the idea that everything had happened before multiple time as I am at the idea that they might just hand-wave all the extraneous nonsenese.

This feels something akin to when Black Ops came out:

Friend: come on, buy it. It's fun, I promise.

Me: No

Friend: They changed so much.

Me: No they didn't.

Friend: Yes they did.

Me: No they didn't.

Friend: But they....

Me: FINE. I ll buy it used. Now shuttup!

Result: Worst 40 dollars spent ever.
So I guess you missed the latest Medal of Honour.

OT: I'm still going to watch those, even if they'll be a bit on a shitty side. It's Matrix after all ;/

I was going to get Medal of Honor, but I figured. Hey, I have Bad Company 2, Reach, and Gears (and for a short time Black Ops.) I don't really need another shooter.

Was it good?

I still haven't finished all of the third matrix movie. I guess I could reserve judgement until I finish it.

First off, I call BS.
Why?? The first movie was one of my all time favourite movies, and the sequels sucked! Why did they make the sequels, and why haven't they learned from their mistakes? If the new movies are good, fine, but that doesn't change the fact that they aren't needed!! The Matrix was complete with it's first movie, an instant classic.

I may have been one of the few who really enjoyed the whole Matrix trilogy. The story got worse as it got towards the end, but both Reloaded and Revolutions were quite good as standalone action films.

I didn't even like the first one let alone 2 and 3...I would completely ignore this time a 4th and 5th movie.
Thankfully I didn't see it in the theaters I just went ahead and waited till it hit TNT.

Bawwwwww.

Would have been nice. Whatever you say about the story, at least we'd have gotten more awesome kung-fu fights :(
