On all major platforms!?
Yeeeessssssss!!!!!
*puts hand on shoulder*
Son, I fear there won't be a 360 version. When they say "all major high-end platforms", they mean the next console generation. The wording is a bit vague, but there have been other interviews and blogs that said it more clearly.

And I thought there might be a reason to hold onto my Xbox 360 saves.

I have a curious felling that having a consistent world will be very hard. Considering the way the files are saved.
They transfer from the first to second game on the PC just fine, although with fairly minor in-game consequences/references/rewards, in the grand scheme of things. That might be different in the third game, considering how much bigger a difference the choices in the second game make and how much more significant the branching is in that one. The major stuff could probably be covered Mass Effect-style in a short introduction where you answer some questions (or whatever it was; played those on the PC too so didn't see what the PS3 version did first hand, only read about it).
It's kind of interesting/weird the absolutely massive amount of stuff the first game tracks about the world and your character compared to how little the second game seems to actually care about and import from it. I had literally THREE GIGABYTES of save files from a single playthrough of the first game, and each file by the end of the game had grown to somewhere between 20 and 25 MB, but it only keeps a handful of things in the import.
