How is it that Microsoft can spend over a billion dollars building and developing the thing and yet it still has horrible problems?

Rushed development to beat the PS3 onto the marketplace I think. The system's inherently flawed by design and by the time it was out on the market they could only band-aid the problem through revision instead of fixing it completely.

That's the problem with today's technology.

Whereas in the old days, things like cars (ESPECIALLY cars) and other devices were built like tanks. Now they are just built with brittle plastics for cosmetics.

It also doesn't help that they pretty much program your machinery to die when your warranty expires.
