At that price and duration, you'd have to be fucking her to get your money's worth. No handjob though, not with those claws.

While I don't agree with hurling objects, I can completely understand the rage.

Imagine those peoples favorite 'star'/'singer' (whatever) saying she is going to play a special impromptu 'concert' just for her adoring fans. Each person is excited to see one of their favorite performers and gladly pays between £250-£300, per ticket. A price usually set for venues that last two to three hours. Once everyone is settled, the star walks out on stage and spends twenty minutes on a political soapbox and then another twenty minutes singing which is probably lessened by any set/instrument changes - then promptly exits the stage like she's given everyone the meaning of life and they shouldn't think to ask for more.

I'd probably be pretty damn frustrated.

Apologies to all Britts. I'm an idiot. Moving on:
This short video -
(Another video)
Shows the response of the crowd of 2700 people or so after an unexpected performance in Maddona's tour schedule (The Paris venue was added a bit later and the sale of tickets was limited at first for her fans). The preformance was 45 minutes and each ticket was bought with 280 Euros each. Her fans even went as far as camping outside of the stage the night before.
The audience rallied against the preformer after she finished, calling "boo" and for their money back, people going as far as shouting "whore" at the singer.

So guys and gals and fans of Maddona, what do you think?
She's not a whore, she's a material girl.

Wow, this is the first time I've ever approved of anything the French have ever done.

Just kidding, you guys are alright in my book.

Wait, did they know the show was only 45 minutes when they bought the ticket? Please tell me they didn't...

Anyway, jerks will be jerks, I would be pissed too, but there's more and less appropriate ways of reacting. It's always worth remembering that artists are only humans. You do feel cheated paying loads of money for a phoned in or cut down performance, but it's worth keeping in mind that while it's a special occasion for us as an audience, it's their daily job. I've phoned in my daily job too, I've even f*cked up badly a couple of times, it's nothing I'm proud of or wanted to happen, but it happened nonetheless. Not everyone can do everything correctly all of the time.

That said, if I paid 2800 for a concert and it ended up lasting for only 45 minutes I would be severely disappointed.

And who's the one laughing all the way to the bank and still has millions of fans around the world? I understand the French fans' indignation, however I am glad to see them realize that no artist is worth 280 Euros.

Come on folks, the poor old dear's probably struggling to stay active and remember the routines by now. We should be more forgiving of the elderly who like to keep working.

(I've only looked at recent pictures, but she is like 70+ now right?)

Even after reading the news story, I'm still not very clear on this... what exactly were they angry about?

Were they upset that she toned down her act? That she used an image of a French politician with a Hitler mustache? Did they think the performance was too short?

At first I thought that was pretty disgusting, I have no idea who she is but no musician deserves that (except Nickleback, *ahem* watch them rocks man...) but then I saw the price for a ticket. Wow, no wonder the crowd was pissed off. 280 euro for a 45 minute show? Seriously, fuck that. However, the crowd probably shouldn't have taken it out on her, it isn't the musician that determines the price of tickets, after all.

I don't get it. What happened? She played an extra gig on her tour and got booed and bottled when she played it? Why?
Because 45 minutes for a gig that cost that much is completely ridiculous? I payed 30 quid to see MUSE in 2010 year and their set was two and a half hours. Headline shows on a big name's tour are expected to go on for somewhere upwards of one and a half hours. No band or performer can get away with charging almost 100 euros per 15 minutes of their time onstage. Not even if Freddie Mercury magically rose from the grave and Queen played another show.

Still not getting the anger. I mean she is a legend, she gives pretty good concerts, and it was a"surprise venue". To expect a regular performance was just stupid. She gave them no more than what they asked for...her performing
