Hey guys maybe you know me as the guy that just simply trolls around. But stay awhile and listen.
So I just bought Heroes of Might and Magic 6 for 10 dollars, not that expensive, from the Humble store (mistake #1). While the title is kinda clickbaity, I am PUTTING THIS DISCLAIMER HERE: It is my fault. Mea maxima culpa. So what happened was that the game was only redeemable on Uplay. I had earlier titles that use Uplay so my Steam account and Uplay, I thought, were linked.

Here is where mistake #2 comes. I put all of my games on an external drive, since my Steam list is 94 games (both installed and uninstalled). So the first Uplay install is in C, you know the Local Disk where the OS is installed. However I uninstall it and I put it on my HDD. I try to log in using my Steam credentials, doesnt work. I use the email behind Steam, change the password since I did forget that. However my account doesnt pop up. So i use the earlier title, Settlers: Paths to a Kingdom, to enter. What happens next is really annoying.

It shows a NEW account. Settlers, Far Cry Blood Dragon and Heroes 6 are gone and their keys already used up. This is the last straw. Uplay can go die. Ubisoft can take a dive for all I care, they used to make good games. NO MORE. NO MORE SHALL MY WALLET OPEN TO UBISOFT. I CURSE THEE. May thy every launch be a failure.

Captcha: Like a boss. Yes Ubisoft took my money, around 30 bucks, like a bloody boss. ANd screw you too captcha. screw you too

I'm not familiar with the exact details of how it works, but have you tried contacting Ubisoft or the Humble Store, explaining what happened, and seeing if they'll send you another code? It's at least worth a shot.

Yes, definitely contact them. And if they don't give you another code you can threaten them with bad publicity. Just say that you'll contact every major video game website and tell them about their blatant lack of respect for their customers. The last thing they need now is more bad press.

Oh I'll contact them alright. To get my old account back. Or to get a new code. But yea after that I'm done with the bastards. They used to be good.

Captcha: sky's the limit. My rage has no limits. Not even the sky. Damned captcha one of these days I shall find thee and end thee. With a freaking flamethrower.

If you're willing to use steam I don't see how you can complain about uplay.
Especially since mistake #2 seems to be a user fault.
You can always use custom install to make sure the game is installed the right place, or change the default install directory in the settings.

oh how i hate uplay! (disclaimer: i dont mind steam and gasp, also think origin is kinda good)

i bought my first assassins creed game black flag and so had to install uplay for the first time, originally just though it was a bit garish.

I uninstalled black flag after playing and then uplay as ive only got a 128gb SDD and way too many games, anyway, while clearing up hard drive space for upcoming games i notice that my SDD still looks way too full so i double check add/remove programs, nothing untoward so i manually go through my program files.

and there it is, black flag, the full game, not playable, not showing up on my programs but still taking up a hefty amount of GB.

uplay is just a peice of shit software and i cant bring myself to buy a ubisoft game aslong as its attached to that

Sounds to me that you made a new account by accident and you're blaming Ubisoft for your mistake.
I didnt make a new account. What I did was change my password to my old one. For some reason when i opened Uplay from Steam it just decided to get into a new one.

I am willing to use Steam because of the simple facts that I will list:
1) Easy to use
2) Download speeds are nice- I get a nice 1 to 2 MB/s from Steam. While Uplay drops down to freaking 700 B/s. That's bytes not kilobytes. And I did say that I am at fault for mistake #2.
3) SALES. Although I only bought Heroes 6 from the Humble Store. That's the only thing I bought.

So after a few minutes to see something with the Humble Store, for some reason it made me a new account.

You know what guys. I'm through with Ubisoft. Screw Uplay and screw those blasted frogs. At least I only lost 30 bucks. I'm uninstalling Uplay. I'm uninstalling EVERY Ubi game made after 2010 and I'm never buying a Ubisoft game ever again. To hell with them, to hell with Uplay.

Being very dramatic here as I'm pretty certain its some error on your end. Not heard this happening to anyone else and companies don't go out of their way to "steal" games off people, no money in it.

You haven't read much of what I wrote have you? I said SEVERAL times now that it was my fault. And yes I like Steam, I never had an issue with them. And dude it's a freaking company by its very nature they try to make as much as they can, and they don't care whether it's legal or not.

Did you now? There in the OP yes, but anyone can see from each progressive post that you're just saying that. If you didn't blame others you'd have never made this ridiculous thread in the first place after all.
As for companies, yes they exist to make money... they don't go about that by committing petty acts of thievery, if they were actually stealing than they'd be more people affected than yourself.

Also using xenophobic epithets doesn't really garner any sympathy
At first I wondered what epithet you meant, then I remembered my "blasted frogs" thing. Yea that is my bias showing. Romanians are called Gypsies throughout Europe and made fun of. Also I was really angry when I wrote that first post. But I will apologize for it. I shouldnt have used and I am very sorry. I didn't mean to offend anyone, my "mouth" took the better of me.

Captcha: French toast. Oh my fucking God. Captcha I am going to find you and kill you I swear to God. You are one scary motherfuker.

1. What do Romanians or gypsies have to do with anything?
2. I don't think this is correct - I'm fairly sure that Romanians and gypsies are, like, completely different. The gypsies are, however, also known as Roma/Romani people...which is still not Romanian.

Well, I certainly agree about Uplay at least. Uplay alone may be the sole reason I never get Far Cry 4.
