As far as urban shooters go, I assume you've already tried them, but all the same I'll recommend Rainbow Six: Vegas and Vegas 2.ethaninja said:Ok so, there are many games with guns. Unfortunatly most of them are about War, or in the future (or near future) or just set in stupid boring places. Not enough FPS/TPS's take place in the cities if you ask me, where you can select standard handguns like a Glock 18 or a Beretta 92fs and tear shit up.
Sure you've got the GTA games, Max Payne, True Crime and um.... I'll have to get back to you on that one.
So I've taken it on myself to go to a game designing course. I have so many idea's for games that I just want to play. Like a building strategy set in either modern day or future (C&C Generals and Supreme Commander) where you can select a single unit and control them in first person or something.
Just imagine how badass that would be. Like Starcraft. A massive Zerg invasion is heading your way and you have a shitload of marines to counter them. Select a marine. BOOM you're in the fight up close and personal. Ready to tear shit up.
NOW for discussion value:
What are your gaming ideas that you have yet to see come to light.
I found it used at EB Games/Gamestop. It's definitely worth at least a rental, and believe me when I say the taser will quickly become a favourite weapon.ethaninja said:Hmm, any idea where I could get it. Looks pretty good =)LordCuthberton said:
Futuristic urban shooter, but it is still going to be pretty badass I reckonServing UpSmiles said:Ahh a fellow fan of grey and blue lightening reacting with eachother, well if thats our preference, i like to show you...
It will be the king of Urban shooters i swear.
For an RTS where you can jump directly into any unit and leap into the fray to duke it out personally, I recommend you grab a copy of -or at least seek out and research- the Battlestations series immediately. Particularly Battlestations: Pacific.ethaninja said:Ok

Oh man that looks badass. It's too bad it's WWII =(Squilookle said:For an RTS where you can jump directly into any unit and leap into the fray to duke it out personally, I recommend you grab a copy of -or at least seek out and research- the Battlestations series immediately. Any similar ones where you can be just a footsoldier or something?
And also I wish it was a building strategy like StarCraft =(Squilookle said:For an RTS where you can jump directly into any unit and leap into the fray to duke it out personally, I recommend you grab a copy of -or at least seek out and research- the Battlestations series immediately. Been done, "Raven Squad"ethaninja said:So I've taken it on myself to go to a game designing course. I have so many idea's for games that I just want to play. Yeah but It doesn't look like a Building strategy. Which is what I'm really looking for.Deguasser said:Been done, "Raven Squad"ethaninja said:So I've taken it on myself to go to a game designing course. Yeah I play that. Still, I'm kind of over it and something about it just doesn't reach my point of interest. I guess it would be better if there were more sort of in the street missions or vehicle bits or something?vrbtny said:What your describing sounds a bit like rainbow six Vegas +2....
Screw you.ethaninja said:Pfft, pie charts are for old boring people.khaimera said:Hell Yeah, Pecan, Lemon Meringue, Peach, Chocolate Cream, you name it. I could be the team baker and provide snacks to all you programmers.ethaninja said:Any pie making skills? =Dkhaimera said:I'm in. Do I need any computer skills for this. My skill set includes embedding youtube videos on the escapist (with spoilers), making an html heart, and downloading music (legally). Thats good enough right?ethaninja said:Yeah, that WOULD be friggen awesome ;D My god, we should all become a team of developers and make the badassest games out there ;Dkhaimera said:Your idea sounds good, but I'd like a GOOD version of Die Hard. The whole game takes place in an office building. Its all indoors and urban. It would have to be a new modern building with lots different areas to keep it interesting. Like a day care, cafeteria, cubicles.
Or a shooter that takes place in a mall. That would be my dream game.
Anyone ever play the old die hard games?
If you're asking if I can make pie charts, thats a big fat NO.
