this guy is an american general.. the man who's job entitles him to send men and women into combat, to organise battles... i have never been more happy to not be an american soldier right now
He WAS an American General. Note the "former", He retired in 1997. Most likely due to a chronic case of the stupids.

Honestly, I was expecting, from the title, something a lot funnier. Thats just...dark...of course I to have to ask for a source.

Also, gays can be in the military in America. The general approach is that if no one talks about it or brings up sexuality in combat, there won't be a problem. Not the best system, but at least no one is actually excluded to my knowledge.

I work with a guy who thinks that the gays are ruining America because they are all stuffed with teh aids and they are a drain on the countries financial reserves lol. So I can see how he would be retarded enough to say something like that.

The idiots are taking over!

Did he Retire or was he Retired?

Either way the guys an idiot of the top order, but if they forcibly retired him at least it should not be a complete public relations disaster for the US armed forces.

It's NOT a *succesful* troll, unless the targets respond with many entertaining reactions.

Thread fail.

The real reason the Dutch lost at Srebenica was because they numbered 400 men with APC support versus thousands of Serbian and Bosnian Serb soldiers armed with tanks and anti-tank support. Standard military loss, simple as that.
I'm Dutch and uh.. yeah.. we got a bit ran over there.. a few years ago the veterans who served at sebrenica actually had to go back and apologize to the muslims.
Mostly because they were filmed dancing after the assault. (as in happy to be alive and not being held captive)

Anywho.. the guy is an utter and complete dick.

I read this on the BBC today, and couldn't stop laughing. I pretty much imagined the entire Dutch nation going 'Uh?'.

Anyway, plenty of military's let gay people serve in them and have never reported any loss in combat prowess or morale because of it.

you forgot the part about the american air support or should I say the lack of. With the official american response beeing:"sorry but we're to bussy" so much for 'joint action'

Yeah but everybody knows the Dutch are the modern day Spartans, if it had been 300 Dutch against hundreds of thousands of bad guys, the outcome would have been better.

I believe, those dutch soldiers were just smoking the traditional dutch herbs, that's why they lost. (and a prominent lack of bass in their ranks)

Referring to anyone as a "troll" is a compliment. It is stating you do not believe they are stupid enough to honestly believe what they are saying, rather, you believe what they are saying is formulated precisely to elicit an extreme reaction.
Let's call it whishful thinking.

Its probably the opposite. US soldiers are known for friendly fire. Might be coz they're all too stressed about hiding their sexual orientation?

You didn't hear it from me... :p

I say screw the guy. My father's been there twice for three months at a time, in the dutch army, and the homosexual thing was no problem at all.

After the edit, I will quote something I heard somewhere.

When there are homosexuals in the unit it doesn't disrupt it. It means that even in a one-gender unit, there will be people actively defending their loved ones and will fight that much harder.
