I'll say this as politely as I can manage: Read the post directly above mine carefully and see if you can figure out what I was talking about.
I did? Perhaps try a more valid example with special grenades linked to the correct class?

And smoke grenades in TFC lol wut?
Big fat FAIL.

I think you are the one with the faulty memory.
Unless you played on a modded server that had no delay timer for the grenade backpack (or played on a map where the backpack with the grenades was the only sort of pack you could fill up on), you can't really nade spam in TFC. It isn't like Halo 3 where you keep picking up grenades off of those who have been killed.

I mean, you could be a griefer and throw your nail grenades near an enemy's spawn but you only get two of those, they're very easy to hear and avoid running out of your spawn into, and most importantly, how many griefers play TFC aren't just mass-team-infection medics?

Go play TFC again. It's still an amazing game if you happened to miss it :]

Don't get me wrong, I was first in line to preorder the Orange Box on Steam and I play TF2 regularly. But I think it would be fantastic if an updated TFC came out; these two games aren't antagonistically aligned and are different enough to coexist very well together.
I'm starting to think you're trying to troll me. No one could be this dense.

As an old triber, I can happily say this:
If a person can tag you with a nade when your travelling at over 100 miles an hour, then they damn well deserve a kill. Most of the time, it was not the just nade that killed you, it was the fact that your aggressor had SHOT THE NADE WITH AN EXPLOSIVE DISK and the combined explosion had turned you into slag.

That?s real nade skill. Nothing like the spamming I see in almost every one game with them.

God damn, it kind of sucks that after being a Triber for so long, I find most other Multiplayer Shooters to be uninspired pieces of shit. Not that your shooter of choice is bad; Its just that Tribes enlightened me to how mediocre and insipid everything else is, infidel.

Its really ruined a lot of games for me?

Only thing that's REALLY annoying about 'nades in most games is unless you actually see the thing thrown at you, you will probably miss seeing it entirely. They tend to blend in on the ground more times than not and be all but invisible until they blow you the hell up. I mean they're darn handy at the right times and and easy way to "fire in the general direction of the enemy"; its kind of a spammy weapon to begin with. The abundance of nades in many MP games does make holding territory a pretty iffy prospect since people will just unload their entire stash in your general area if they find you're dug in too much to take in a front-on assault. But hey, I guess that's the point, no?

I play Counter Strike:Source which has a cap so they can only hold 1 frag, 1 smoke, and 2 flashes.

I find myself actually not that affected by grenades. I dunno, it just never really affected me, since most of the time, I'd die from a melee attack after being sprayed with the assault rifle.

I didnt buy it (i would never want to own a valve game for more than a week). I rented the orange box and spent the enitre time playing Portal. I tried playing Half Life for achievements but i couldnt bring myself to finish that snooze fest. TF2 got about 30mins of my time as lack of splitscreen and boring maps made it one of the worst shooters ive played in recent times. There is nothing buying it on the PC could do to change my views.
I don't like HL2 much either. It wasn't anywhere near as much fun as the first one was, and episode 1 was just awful. Ep2 was better, but still no better than 'good'.

You're wrong about TF2, though. You can't even begin to get the game in half a hour. The fact that, from what I hear, people on the console versions are pretty noobish and have no clue what teamwork is probably dampened your experience. The original maps have received tons of tweaks and exploit fixes and play considerably better than they did in their initial versions which were still quite good as long as you didn't overload the map with players (hey, I'm one of those hopeless mutants who liked a good game of Hydro). They've added several new official maps as well as a few top quality community ones to the official map rotations.

The console versions are crippled by a lack of dedicated servers, lack of updates due to Microsoft's avarice, and the wonderful 'people' who make up the Xbox Live community. My point stands, and you really missed out.

Thats no better, if they cant spam you with HE nades they flash spam, and that even MORE annoying then normal nades. Flash spamming is the most annoying thing in CS, they should have limited it to 1 of each nade period.
