Here's a fact: There's a pretty good chance any of these "facts" could be plain false, or just partly true.
Reason: People read it, trust it, believe it immediately and then spread it. That's how hoaxes and urban legends are born, baby!

An example is in the OP's post, actually.

Where are the Mythbusters when you need them?

The song "Gloomy Sunday" has actually caused people to kill themselves. This is because the song is very sad.
Thos are unsubstantiated claims. What is interesting is that it was banned from being played in Hungary, when the Composer was from.

The composer himself actually committed suicide shortly after his sixty-ninth birthday.

the actor michael j fox was not born michael j fox, he was born michael a. fox, but another actor already had that as there name, so he used a j instead

the j doesn't stand for anything
Actually, from what I heard, it was the name Michael Fox was taken, and he didn't want to put up with constant "Michael's a fox" jokes.

OT: The band with the longest-lasting lineup to date is ZZ Top, formed in 1970 with their current lineup. The second place band is Rush, with their current line-up forming in 1972 after John Rutsey was removed from the band and replaced with Neil Peart.

The name of the series "The Legend of Zelda" is named that because the guy who created it's wife was named Zelda.
Actually it was named after the wife of F. Scott Fitzgerald. Shigeru Miyamoto liked the name.
Thank you for correcting him.

Miyamoto was inspired for the style of the game itself by his childhood neighborhood escapades as well.

Han shot first, that is all, lol

Boba Fett is based on old concepts that they didn't use for Darth Vader

Jeremy Bulloch (the actor who played Boba in the originals) was cast because he fit the costume, he never had to read from a script or do a screening test becuase Fett's voice was Jason Wingreen.

The British SMLE bolt-action rifle (Their main rifle during WWI and WWII) was one of the first rifles (especially in the case of WWI) to have a removable magazine, but unlike modern rifles which utilize this feature for faster reloading, the SMLE used it for cleaning purposes.

On a related note, the Indian Police stil use Old SMLEs, and new ones that are modified for NATO bullets.

hmmmm cant think of anything else atm

That 70's show was originally called Teenage Wasteland

If you look at the elbow of the person you are trying to high five, you will never miss

The word trivia comes from ancient greece, where news can be gathered at street intersections {tri- means three, via, means streets)
