It was back when I started to really get active on the net. I found that I didn't really like all the more or less nonsense names a lot of people went with (no offense to anyone with said nonsense names), so I went with one that wasn't, well, nonsense.

It's a more effective version of my old nick Ben Bazooka.

My real name's nowhere even close to Ben, but I do like it. Obviously.
Only a selected few can understand the privilege of the power that comes with that name.

OT: It derives from my xbox gamer tag that was inspired by MC Pee Pants. I use a variation on most accounts that aren't related to bills.

Angerwing was made up because it seemed cool a couple of years ago. I'm still happy with it. I occasionally use Angelwing as well, but Angerwing was my main.

I can relate. One of my nicknames is Max Power.

My name is Nick.

Made the name up about 12 years ago when I started to name the officers in my Warhammer 40K army. The second Commissar got named Vortigar and it stuck.

There was a time when I was the only Vorty on the web, but those days have passed and now there are at least four people around who call themselves that. I never played WoW, but someone named Vortigar did. Nor is the Youtube account under Vortigar mine. I used to have the hotmail adres but it got swamped with spam so I ditched it. I'm not even the only Dutch Vortigar.

Ah, the days I could google myself and see only me...
They made me feel so special.

*snf

I've been thinking of using my own name in some way as it is quite possibly unique in the world (Dutch first name, French last name), but I like to keep a bit of privacy.

Well the first part is simply how my name often sounds when people use it in a hurry or most often from kids who have difficulty with the double syllable, the initial is because so many sites just don't like four letter usernames, but seem quite happy with five.

Boring, but there ya go.

Triangulon was my name in the group of three geometry-themed personas a couple of mates and I created back in school (we were pretty unpopular suprise suprise). The others were Orb Man and Cubos. We even had gestures for them. Good times...

I made up the name Keela when I was a little kid, around six or so. I've kept it for most forms of media requiring a username since then, although I changed my Xbox gamertag.

Then I realized that I had the same name as the Quarian god, and I knew that Mass Effect and I were meant to be.
That story made my night.

Oh, and I suppose I should add content. Silver is my favorite color, and shade is actually not intended to be "lampshade". More of the 'ghostly shadow' aspect. This isn't may favorite user name by a long shot, but I don't use it much, and I have a thing where I like to keep my internet life segregated.

EDIT:

I just used my real name. Call me uncreative.
Also this. This is why I love this website.
