Using a gun one handed because you really need to

Something I've been wondering about, what sort of gun is best to use one handed, and what sort of problems you'd have?

Now, yeah, it's best not to do that, but what if you had to? Like, if you only had one hand, say if you were a fictional character whose hand has been replaced by a chainsaw or you've grown a claw due to the power of Chaos? Or if you just didn't have the use of one hand, but that's not usually portrayed as an advantage.

Firing a gun mightn't be so difficult, of course, assuming it was small and low calibre enough, but are there guns you can easily load one handed? Likewise, chambering a round, though you could use a revolver and avoid this issue.

If you had a Slaanesh daemon/ette type claw instead of a hand, you could probably hold the weapon in that hand while you used the other to load and so on, but could you hold a rifle (say) well enough with an ungainly crab/scorpion/scissor type claw to use it?

You see this sort of thing crop up reasonably often, but I don't remember the problems really being addressed (And, if you had to sleep with it on, how do you stop from activating it accidently in your sleep, wouldn't it make it awkward to get dressed, and wouldn't the weight throw your balance off etc). To an extent this would be something that comes up for people in real life, are there manufactures that produces specialised guns for people with the use of only one hand? My google fu has failed me and there aren't any Slaaneshi daemons carrying firearms in my area (I'm from Australia, see).

Erm, you're all over the place and hard to understand...

But from what i can pick up from this is.... The powers of chaos (Slaanash from the looks of it)
has recently given you a *cough* "Gift of Chaos" and now you find yourself with one hand. But since you want to still have some dakka in your life you wonder what firearm is the best choice for one hand shooting!

It's called a handgun, i would go with a 9mm. As anything bigger will have more kickback, and anything smaller will have a very short distance.

And it will be easier to aim then opposed to a sub machine gun

Be a man and use your LMG of choice. I mean if a friggin Chaos god saw something in you to give you a gift, then you must be abnormally strong or something.

Rick loses a hand, it's portrayed as a large handicap, though he doesn't stop punch people with the stump, he generally uses a 9mm pistol in left hand or a hatchet if up close.

9mm Glocks are really nice firing one handed.

Any .22 magnum would work well too, and those magnum bullets will kill. Though you're probably want something with more bang.

Might I suggest the S&W 500, lots of recoil but having two hands can be bad if you handle it wrong since the concussion of the bullet will actually cut your hand open if you hold it incorrectly. I would use some wrist support though. Ace bandage will do.

What about loading them and chambering a round, though?

Now, if you had a claw, presumably you could pull back the slide, at least on a slide designed for people with claws, I guess, but if not, can you pull back the slide one handedly, say by rubbing it against something?

Had been thinking of a lever-action shotgun, if your secondary hand doesn't need to be that dextrous, but I don't know.

Well I know ejecting the clip from a glock can easily be done one handed and reloading could be as simple as having a clip you could just slide the clip in. Something kind of like Equillibrium perhaps.

as for the S&W 500 you could manufacture a sort of pez dispenser on your arm that would eject a bullet into the chamber. (something that works similar to the hidden blade in assassins creed for a general idea)

Pretty much any handgun you can use and load onehanded relatively easily. Even the big ones; D.Eagles or the S&W 500 can be shot one handed easily enough, although you've gotta keep a tight grip on it. Oddly enough, if you were going to go with something bigger, I'd suggest an AA-12. They have almost zero recoil, and as long as you've got the clips already loaded up they're easy to pop out and back in. Yes, they're a shotgun, but if you've only got one hand shooting accurately at long range wouldn't be easy anyway.

As far as everything else you brought up... Well, you just adjust after time I suppose.

A gun that shoots shurikens and lightning (with tits).

You'd need to go for a low caliber gun, or a really light machine gun (uzi).
Or you know, tomahawks, because you only need to have a target locked and carry around a red button.
And about the reload, well doesn't Lara Croft use a belt which has the new clips uppwars so she only needs to click out the old one and strike her gun downwards and reloads the new one? (of course you'll need the reload move also but that keeps one hand free pretty much always. xD

Pistol/smg with a stock added for accuracy would probably be the best choice.

...listen to the marine. Hand-cannons without the support of both hands are a no-no. Even overlooking the possibility of wrist damage, the recoil makes re-acquiring targets after the first shot a real pain.
The Five-seveN is a good choice. High capacity, low(ish) recoil, excellent penetration (always handy when the existence of demons and gods and shit gets real... you'll need something to go through chitinous demon armor, I imagine), average stopping power, and shares ammo with the P90, which you could also use one-handed with some practice.

Well, I'd suggest defiling as many people, animals, inanimate objects etc as possible until slaanesh gifts you with technology. As a chaos attribute it will be bonded to one of your limbs, possibly replacing the limb that is causing you problems. Another benefit of this approach is that again, as a chaos attribute the weapon will never run out of ammunition, the power of the chaos gods will ensure you are always fully loaded. You never know, you could end up with a distortion cannon on your arm, or even a neuro disruptor! How much would that help with your depraved lusting and defiling? I hope this has been helpful and informative.

Sort of tangential, but I'm curious - how do you quickly and reliably load any type of gun with just one hand?

Seems like you good sir need a good dose of obliterator virus and so your heavy artillery is therefore attached and also never runs out of ammo. but on a less disfiguring note the go to 40k one handed gun seams to be a storm bolter and as far as ammo i recommend some sort of belt fed system

Yeah, thanks Spoony.

Ok, he is actually holding it one handedly when he fires, the other is just supporting the ammo belt, which is sorta impressive, although he's not aiming and he does use both hands at times.
