Uwe Boll- Really A Great Guy

I begin by saying that I do not want a flame war at all, and mearly wish to express my love for this director who seems to get a lot of ire from our community.

Yes, I love Uwe Boll. His movies are some of my favorites, and I am not sure why people dislike them so vehemently. To me, his wonderful adaptations of video games to movies really brought them to life. Alone In The Dark for example was far more interesting as a movie then a game. The intense, deep script and powerful design and directing made the movie great. Along with Bloodrayne 2 and Farcry, his adaptations took my love for the games and amplified them 100 times through his powerful directing abilities.

The scripts for these films were brilliant, the art direction and cinematography was golden, and the overall directing, by the man himself, was somthing that greats like Speilberg and Lucas can take some lessons from.

Time and time again, I hear that he is a bad director, and this pains me. I do not understand why people do not love this visionary man. This man who is, in my opinion, surely the greatest director of our or of anytime before or forever into the future.

So I ask you, why is it that there is so much ire against such a high caliber director and brilliant man?

The ire is because all of his movies are terrible. He takes good concepts/stories and turns them into colossal piles of fecal matter.

Because he is a total D-Bag. Plain and simple. The man makes lackluster movies, then comes out by saying that he is a brilliant film maker. The guy has an ego, and a big one at that. And his movies suck, that just adds to the hate.

Vivaldi, I respect your opinion. I'm a guy who likes Twilight, so I can hardly have a go at you for that opinion you so vehemently expressed. However, be prepared for a lot of backlash from other Escapists. And to be honest, if it wasn't for the fact that I support people's opinions (when they actually know what they're talking about, that is), I would agree with the masses here...

I don't think he is. We were talking on MSN the other day and Vivaldi was going on and on about how much he enjoyed House of the Dead, and how he doesn't understand why it is hated. He went on to say that the acting and plot was some of the best he has ever watched, and how he didn't understand that Slumdog Millionaire won Best Picture and House of the Dead didn't.

How the hell is he a troll? He's merely expressing his own opinion, and if you read the original post the guy is making his opinion known with a knowledge of the area he's talking about. He's watched Uwe Boll's films and so he knows what he's talking about, and so he's made an informed opinion, which we should respect, even if we all do want to see Uwe Boll drowned in acid before he makes another film. And so on. Leave the guy alone, for God's sake. If that's his opinion then that's fine. Don't hassle him for it.
