I can second this whole-heartedly. I had to put my dog down after 12 years a couple years ago, and not a day has gone by since that I don?t think of her and my heart gets heavy. She was the absolute BEST friend I?ve ever had; she carried me through the darkest times of my life, and all she had to do was jump in my lap, wag her tail or beg me to play. No matter how heavily the struggles of adult life weighed on me, she was always just happy to see me. When the world tries to kick your ass and make you question your worth, nothing feels better than a dog?s unconditional love. I don?t get how anyone DOESN?T love dogs (fuck, I?m tearing up thinking about her now.) Bill Burr said it best:
