This came out of nowhere. Although I own it on PS3 and have played through it a couple of times, I'm sure I'll buy it again on PC for the convenience. Absolutely love the game. Demon's Souls and Valkyria Chronicles alone were enough to justify my PS3 purchase.

I've never tried the sequels but it'd be nice if they were ported too. I don't expect them to be quite the same, given that they were designed for handhelds, but still worth a try I'd expect.

Much smaller maps, I think more load times, and a lot more generic battles. While in in 1 you're seemingly always driving forward (though you can do free battles), in 2 it felt like I was knocking around generic jobbers in pointless missions until I did the next story event (especially due to how characters events work if they work as I remember).

Everybody please buy this so they bring over VC3 too.

Btw, yes 2 had less diverse maps but the map division added a different aspect to it. I thought it was smart design for a handheld. And the class with the shield (forgot the name, its been a while) were pure WIN (was her name Alexis, she solo'd maps for me). As was having Selvaria on your team :)

Meanwhile I might go back and try my hand at the hard skirmish DLC again. I have some unfinished business there.

p.s. if the Selvaria DLC comes out with it be sure to play through it, give her gun to Rosie and watch mayhem unfold :)

I need this version, I hope they add more tank options and please make this port mod friendly, I want so many tank mods
or hell maybe add a create a mission mode where we can customize any map and enemy teams and load them to the server for anyone to download and play

This is good since it shows petitions sort of work (besides the console petitions which don't and should) but I do hope that if they do decide to bring over 3 that they should also put it on the PS store, PS3,PS4 and Vita.

Hopefully it'll be a good port this time around.

which is why we should wait for a sort of port report. I'm excited, but I have to tone it down, because I cannot trust console publishers to do it right the first time around.

Well better be careful with that. Don't buy their bad ports and they might decide they were right the first time and PC is a worthless platform for them to bother with.
Additionally the existence of PC "port fixers" means they are even less likely to bother.

Checked the info on that PC port...wow its bad. I don't care or mind if a game is locked (be it framerate or resolution), but ESC closes the game? Framerate at 20 at points... perhaps they gave a guy an afternoon to do the work needed.

It's currently on sale for pre-release on Steam, launch is the 11th of Nov, sale price is $17.99 till the 7th normal price will be $19.99, tempted to pre-purchase but never played it on PS3 only heard good things thought, you reckon it's worth a pick up for that price?

I never pre-order but that games makes me want to since the price isn't nearly as high as I thought it be. I am extremely weary of ports however.

And don't forget the winter sale is coming, even if $20 isn't that much you can still wait a bit for the price to drop.

Love that game so I've pre purchased it.

I hope it does well enough to bring over the sequels, specifically the third one in the series as it hasn't seen an official english release.

Amazed it's ONLY 20USD.
I bought it NEW for around 50USD, and I still felt like I UNDER paid.

So, yeah, I'm willing to toss 20USD down on one of the BEST JRPGs released in the last gen.

If Sega's twitter feed is at all accurate, this is shaping up to be a pretty decent port.

Granted, the port still could be arse, but from all accounts, that seems unlikely.

Played it on PS3, is a really good game, so if it is true that is going to PC I suggest all PC gamers to try it. Excellent artwork, excellent storyline (not to mention, emotional). It makes my top 10 list for best games of the 7th generation.

I'm guessing it's just IP protecting that sega's doing, but I'd really be happy if it happens. Means I won't have to spend money on a PS3.
I really hope this happens. It's probably the single most criminally underrated title of the whole generation. I already own a copy, but I would love to see it made more available so that its appeal can spread. For a game that was so well polished, and had unique game play, it deserved more attention then it actually received. I would put it at least on par with Fire Emblem Awakening. It may be better.

And it has the protagonists from Skies of Arcadia. Come on.

It's on steam ATM for pre-order, so I'm pretty happy. I love the VC series so I'm glad it's getting more state side releases.

I'm glad to see more jrpgs getting on to PC, although I thought VC had some major problems.

I have a question for those of you who have played the sequels. Are they very similar to the first? I liked the art style and gameplay, but the story, out of place main characters and overall tone of the game being too light ruined it for me.
