I put 42 hours into DmC. I absolutely loved playing DmC, and the environments and soundtrack were awesome. But after 42 hours, it felt pretty boring to go back and play it some more.
42 hours is pretty damn good for a hack&slash game with 20 missions that average about ten minutes long, in my opinion. If I were to subscribe to the belief that it wouldn't be worth it until I spent 60 hours in the game, I'd be bored out of my skull with most of my games and the only ones I'd really be able to truthfully say were "worth it" would be the Mass Effect trilogy, a few Final Fantasy games, and Persona 4 Golden.
