Put simply, a SteamBox that can't actually run at least a majority of the Steam library is going to flop, unless it has major exclusives developed for it. A SteamBox that can run at least most of the Steam library either involves upgrading the hell out of WINE, or pulling a NESticle and pulling a fully-formed WINE-like but superior codebase completely out of left field (for those who don't know, NESticle was a NES emulator created by two guys who's prior creative output was pong with severed heads, it was dramatically ahead of the competition, was free rather than being sold, and just kind of showed up one day without a peep beforehand. It seriously pissed off the emulator development community of the time.).
So far only one game has been ported (L4D2), they might of ported more games without public knowledge but I guess we'll just have to wait and see to know if they gotta use WINE or if Valve has been porting more games.
