This is a good payment option.

It's something that makes XBLA so appealing too.

I am 17 so I can't own a credit card. And I refuse to use my Debit Card anywhere online as if it gets breached and I lose money, it isn't covered.

I love the idea of buying cards in advance and being able to buy something later on.

Forcing every transaction to be made online definitely makes me less likely to buy things.

One thing to keep in mind is your Wallet account will be tied to your Steam account. Somebody hacks that they will not only have your games, they will also have your Wallet.

This can be a win but is a risky proposition all the same. I don't plan to use it myself but can see how it can be a good choice. Just make sure to keep your password SECURE! Change it regularly and don't share it with anybody. That includes people claiming to be from SteamValve or one of their affiliates.

Why would he keep $750,000 in his PayPal account anyway? I assume he was paid that much by many people for something. So I guess that's a good point. It sucks on the receiving end.

I personally don't care because I don't receive a lot of money anyways. Though now I know never to recommend it to people.

Agreeing with the people who say this is probably a preface to a rollout of gift cards, most likely just in time for the Christmas season. I can't see any other reason this would be all that useful.

Generally (in the case of Microsoft Points) I buy roughly the amount I need, sometimes a bit more if I'm expecting to spend more soon.

Then I spend most of them and keep relatively little left.

So if I was hacked then I would lose no more than about £10 / $15.

I like this idea but I really think Valve needs to start making money/point cards like what the Playstation 3 or the x-box 360 has. Not everyone has, not everyone wants a credit card, and not everyone wants to use paypal. I think if Valve did start making point/money cards it would help boost their sales on steam.

Surely you wouldn't lose the money if hacked, the worst that could happen would be they could spend your money on games you didn't want (and I'd hope that Steam could refund you, with proof of a hack attempt.)

The bonus for me is that I'm terrible with money and nearly always end up with no money on my card when a great deal shows up for like one or two days, so with this next time I was feeling rich I could put £20 into my account and leave it there for the special 75%+ off offers!
