Valve: Portal 2 is Our Best Game Ever

Screw that, this is episodic content. That means releasing things in a timely manner. THREE YEARS! Episode 1 released 2006, Episode 2 released 2007, now it's 2010 and no episode 3. Meanwhile they've done all manner of other crap. Who cares about Left 4 Dead 2 and portal. I'm never buying either one of those.

This is an unfinished game. Finish your damn game Valve.

Well since the HL2 Episodes are supposed to be one game they should have the same processing requirements. This means the same engine. This means that every day they delay Ep3, it's getting older and outdated. It's already 4-5 years out of date.

Oh hey here's an idea, howabout Valve delivers on their promises instead. The episodic promise being shorter games with more regular releases. Regular as in, less than 3 YEARS! Seriously this is getting pathetic. Especially when they're releasing all manner of other stuff in the interim.

Don't you fucking dare overhype my game. Portal was all the more awesome because it came out of the blue. I'm going to pretend there is no sequel, in the hopes that I'll be pleasantly suprised when it comes out.

Half Life 2 was crap in my opinion. Throw you in the middle of a story and not tell you that story until the following game? Garbage. That's what you call piss poor story telling. I mean why the hell is Gordon killing all those guys? If I'm Gordon, and I don't know what's going on, why do I go and kill like 500 humans? Assault bases, and so forth. Makes no sense motivation wise. But anyway whatever.

The episodes were actually good. I actually got into the story and started to enjoy it. That's why I'm peeved Ep3 hasn't come out yet. And why there seems to be little to no news about it coming out any time soon.

Did you actually pay attention at all to the game? I mean really, the first level you're in some pseudo concentration camp where they torture people and send them away for who knows what. You kill enemy aliens who took over the whole world, and help the human resistance fight back.

OT: Portal 2 better have the most witty, hilarious, and nonsensical dialogue ever to make up for story, which I have faith it could. Portal was the funniest game ever, and that was with only one guy.

Ok i get it when they say stuff like that about games, but seriously, are they gonna hype this so much and really think it won't crash down on release day? I'd like some of what they're having.
All seriousness aside, if they can back up their claim, i'll be happy to take all this back and replace it with my very own rendition of high school musical 3, fitted to the storyline of portal 2.

There's just no way. There's just no way it can be better than Half-Life 2 unless it has a very, very epic story, a protagonist that players can attach to (nobody knew or cared who was in the 1st Portal), epic fights in the middle of the story (and not just a single one in the end, like the 1st Portal), and interesting unique gameplay.

the player walks calmly through a town and starts on a practically slow, (some say boring), yet visually stunning beginning stroll through a city. From there, it's thrusted into a giant run through alleyways and buildings. Then another calm scene before running through tunnels, train stations, and sewers all to lead up to getting an air boat. And then the airboat chase scenes start, and the helicopter fights, and the puzzles, and the zombies....all before the 1st half of the game.

Ya see how exciting and interesting that is? I mean, they've have to have done some MAJOR rehauling of Portal to make it even get close to the peg that Half-Life2 achieved, especially after HL2:Ep1 and HL2:Ep2....most definitely after the last part of Ep2.

That's one of the silly things about advertising. If your stuff works 30% better than the "leading brand", then why the hell isn't it the leading brand?

Portal 2? Oh, my, yes. I'm looking forward to it, especially considering how thoroughly I enjoyed the first one. And Valve? I love you, darlings, but you're a bunch of consummate teases. If Jonathan Coulton does the theme song to this entry as well, I'm sure it will be just as entertaining as "Still Alive."
