Valve is allowed to do what they want, trying too say other wise will do nothing, now quit your whining
I'll whine if I want. I'm a paying customer, and so far I've paid for an INCOMPLETE game.
Quit defending them you fanboy.
*snerk*.... BWAHAHAHA... I assure you, my friend, I am no fanboy, I don't even own a Valve game, but I am doing however is defending the rights of every artist, writer, what have you that depends on creativity, too work on whatever they want.
Artists working on serials, that demand releases at regular intervals have an obligation to deliver those releases. What if JK Rowling decided, "oh, you know, I could finish the Harry Potter series and write the last book but before I do I'm going to write 2-3 other novels on a completely different topic. I hope you guys don't mind". Fans would be understandable pissed off. So when people are mad that Episode 3 is continually IGNORED by valve I think it's understandable if we're a little annoyed and ask "what the hell is wrong with you guys? Who gives a shit about portal 2"
Rainboq, I have to say, you come across as a total fanboy. Sorry. But you do. I love the games these guys make, and can't wait to see that thing come out, but in all honesty, it IS an annoyingly long time. You can't just go "its their game so why would you expect it to come out at a reasonable time and why would you be annoyed its taking a while, lol". Thats just retarded.
Akalabeth, you're coming across as an idiot too. Although one of the points you've made against people "no, i'm not shooting aliens, i'm shooting humans", is the primary one, and thats something you've admitted to yourself; not understanding the story. They aren't just humans. They are "synths"; think of it as half-human, half alien, part of the alien empire, now. You aren't fighting against actual humans. None of the things you are fighting against are actual humans. Just had to get that out first.
No, really, there is PLENTY of info, within the game, and what info you are missing, they put in the next few games. Half life 2 isn't the first in the series either, and what info is missing in that game crops up in the next few games. What more could you need? The info is there if you play the games, and its an enjoyable experience regardless.
As for Freeman's motivation to do all that crap? Just because you don't hear him vocalize that he wants to save Eli Vance, doesn't mean he doesn't want to.
I'm more confused about why he appears to be mute.. and why people seem to ask you things expecting an answer, never quite catching on that you aren't talking..
Thats the interpretation I got anyway. Maybe he's answering and we can't hear it, but you get things like "Not much of a talker, eh?" from other characters. There's motivation in the character, even if its not voiced, and not known to you, its a fun game, and you get the info within the series. 'sall good.
