It's just Resident Evil 5 all over again... -_-
The only solution to survival horror games getting accused of things of this nature I can see is that it should state in the titles what races the game contains, I mean look at "Nazi Zombies" in CoD W@W, there hasn't been any racisal accusations I know of from that. Of course the reason why there has been any for that might be because everyone pretty hates CoD W@W.

You know folks, linking to the original blog post would be a good way to encourage civil and intelligent conversation. Especially since racism in L4D2 is, at best, a single line that only vaguely implies racism - the actual complaint being about people still being sensitive about Hurricane Katrina.
This really irritates me because there are several other points in that article that actually need criticism. Like whether or not the actual concerns about Katrina are relevant, or the blogger's views on the Confederacy, or his (judging by some other comments in this forum, as I haven't played the game) failure to play for than five minutes of a game he was criticizing the plot of.

So basically....whoever filed the complaint for racism, also believes minorities are immune to zombie apocalypse?

Shit.
I'd better shack up with an African-American woman if my kids even hope to survive the inevitable....

Again, it's just the PC Brigade poking their damn noses in where they're not wanted.

Oh, so shooting a white zombie is okay but shooting a black isn't? Now that's racism.
The idiots who don't realize this, and who go around accusing everyone of being racist, are worse than the original racists from 40 years ago.

I think it is more racist to kill only white people than kill what ever ethnicity is native to that area. I mean Africa and New Orleans have a large ratio of African Americans to whites.

IMO, I see there nothing racist about there being people of different skin colors in a zombie horde. I think it's only natural.

Racism is usually connected only to non-white people. But thinking that you would only be aloud to shoot white people in a video game... Isn't that racist? It sounds like crazy genocide to me...

Yes, I understand that racism has been (and still is in some places) a horrible thing towards people of different skin color, but most of you probably agree that this bullcrap is going a bit too far.

The Confederate flag is not a symbol of racism, dammit!
Sure, there are some idiots, like klansmen, who misuse it, but they also misuse the crusifix, too!
The Confederacy itself wasn't about white supremacy, either! A lot of states wanted to keep slavery, but the essence of the war was about a different governmental mindset: The North wanted the states wanted a federal government with all the power while the Confederacy wanted the states to be independent, almost to the point of being their own individual countries.
Irk! Exaggerating morons!
You have taken the words out of my mouth and displayed them perfectly. Well done.

Blah blah. As I've stated before in a different thread, another day another mindless dipshit latching on to videogames for everything that's wrong, waaaa goes the media outlet.

Meh, move on and ignore the twits.

Calling this straight up racism is pretty bad as I see it. There can be a bit of valid concern, but they are targeting a mixed group of people in a very mixed city, in a game where the main team is mixed. There *might* be some merit if zombie types were discriminated by color, but thats still trying to dig a bit too deep for the racism card.

On the otherhand, southern farmer portrayal might almost make a better target here...

Last night i played L4D and killed 357 white zombies. I am apparently not being racist. In l4D 2 (though i didn't actually see any) i can kill a single black zombie (Who tried to chew my arse off) and i am the next hitler. You know what? Get a focus group of black people, show them L4D2 and ask them if they are offended.
I assume that the blogger in question is white. A white person condeming racism is like me condeming the banks for the recession. I might be able to do it, but i dont have a blind clue what i'm on about. I may also find myself screaming and throwing bricks through the window of the wrong person.

Yeah, cause there's totally no African Americans in New Orleans, so the fact that there are black zombies is like totally racist...

"The racial makeup of the city was 67.25% African American, 28.05% White, 0.20% Native American, 2.26% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.93% from other races, and 1.28% from two or more races. 3.06% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race." - Wikipedia, on New Orleans.

The fucking majority is black.
How does including them make it racist?
If anything, the opposite should be true!

I honestly cannot fathom the stupidity that goes on in the mind of this man.
Jesus Christ. Seriously.

I keep re-reading the article to make sure I didn't make some sort of reading comprehension error.
This pretty much nails it.
Brilliant.

I'd agree, but enough of the races on the planet are already color coded.

Anything tinted red, yellow, white, black(Just to name a few) would already be out for implied racism...
