This seems to me a mixture of Gears of war, bayonetta and MGS.
I'm not really sure how to react to a game like that coming out o_O. I mean, what if it actually has *gasp* fun gameplay?

Get me a DLC Vanessa D. Schneider skin, and i'll be over this like women on M&M's.
Prolly never happen, since she's still Capcom property.
Still, Vanquish screams P.N.03 all over, well, without the dancing.
It'll rock.

Quite like that it's single player only, plus I love the style of sci-fi they're going for. I have faith in Platinum games, they were the creators of Viewtiful Joe after all.

I think it looks awesome, but I also think I've seen attempts at this level of cinematic gameplay before and been disappointed. I'd need a demo before I put money down. But if the controls are halfway decent, I think this will be awesome.

Off topic a bit, how do you control a power suit like that. I mean, if one existed, what would be the interface. Iron Man had a voice control thing that didn't really explain how he controlled the thrusters or anything. The Master Chief basically uses a strength enhancing suit, but anything beyond that, I don't see how you can control it. Are there buttons all over the inside of your gloves, making dexterity really awkward? Do you have buttons you control with your tongue, so that if you get hit hard enough you bite it off because you were hitting the "fire missiles" button?

Seriously, how are these things supposed to work?

an elegant suit for a more civilized warrior.
I like that phrase, simply yet deep :p
That's probably because i stole it from the original Star Wars, where Obi-Wan has described the lightsaber as "an elegant weapon for a more civilized age".

LOL I was wondering the same thing, perhaps this live action trailer will explain it.

Isn't this the game where they want to stop that from happening, whatever it is?

Watch the E3 trailer, I think, and you'll see what I mean. It's just one of those things that looked swell on the page (from the script) but when seen in a cutscene it looks kinda...well...crap. And then someone translated it to english.

Vanquish may turn out to be a great game, but Shakespeare it ain't.

Something about the game makes me think that it'll have clunky controls. I think it's probably because it's being made by the same department in capcom that made Lost Planet 2.
No I dont think Platinum games made lost planet 2 they recently made Bayonetta though.

Ah I see what you mean, well I dont expect much from the story(and script) as I said above, but the gameplay looks extremely fun so I can let it slide.

haha alright, there are just alot of people who blindly hate gears of war with a passion and are super vocal about it so i wasn't sure if that was supposed to be good (which i thought) or they were being sarcastically snoddy about it.

but hell yeah, sawing a grubs head off in slow motion...i would easily do that 1000 times before getting sick of it in the slightest bit.

Looks pretty sweet. However, there is room for skepticism because Japanese developers aren't quite as experienced in first/third person shooters than western developers. The only notable shooters I know from the top of my head is a few capcom ones: RE4, RE5, and a game that started with P.N. I've only played RE4 on the Wii, and it's one of the best games I've played, but well, it plays mostly like an action-adventure rather than a shooter. RE5 took the shooter aspect a bit further, and it arguably suffered as a result. And no one remembers the P.N. game anyway. Feel free to mention any other Japanese games that I may have missed.

If one thinks of Bayonetta as Japanese twist on the God of War series (though in reality it was more of a successor to Devil May Cry), then we can expect Vanquish to be the same thing for the Gears of War series, and I'm sure Platinum Games knows what they are doing.
Actually the developers are from a former studio in Capcom, and helped create Viewtiful Joe and Okami...

Yeah, I see what you mean. It looks probably too hectic, and the japanese are kind of waaaay behind in the HUD design, so we'll have to see. But from the looks of it the game looks like a solid shooter.
