This reminds me of one of my favorite places in the world. It's a stretch of wood/wetlands unlike any i've ever encountered it's dry enough during the year that it grows forest like plants and trees, but during the spring it floods and becomes swamplike and can only be traversed by climbing on fallen trees and wading through the shallower bits. Trees about the size of the one in your picture fall every year because of how soft the ground is. There was one part of these woods I loved as a child had a bunch of the trees together (they probably pulled each other down in a truly epic moment). I used to call it the alligator village because the trees roots pulled out large sections of the ground with them leaving sink holes that I thought looked like alligator dens. This picture brought back some great memories, thanks for posting it.
